The National Defense Council (NDC), at its meeting today chaired by President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), commended the Yemeni people for their broad support for state institutions and their Armed Forces and security forces at this critical juncture in the country’s history.

The Council expressed its great pride in the performance of the Armed Forces and their demonstrated professionalism, discipline, and readiness in protecting citizens and sovereign and vital facilities. It particularly praised the precision operations carried out by the unmanned aerial forces and their accurate and painful strikes against the military capabilities and positions of the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militias.

The meeting was attended by PLC members: Sultan Al-Arada, Tariq Saleh, Abdulrahman Al-Mahrami, Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, Othman Mujli, Mahmoud Al-Subaihi, and Salem Al-Khanbashi.

In the presence of Speaker of the House of Representatives Sheikh Sultan Al-Barakani, Prime Minister Dr. Shai’a Al-Zindani, Speaker of the Shura Council Dr. Ahmed Obaid bin Daghr, Chairman of the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission Mohammed Al-Ghaithi, and the relevant ministers and officials who are members of the National Defense Council, the meeting reviewed developments on the ground.

It also discussed the terrorist attacks carried out by the Houthi militias using ballistic missiles and drones against sovereign facilities, civilian objects, citizens’ homes, and displacement camps. The attacks resulted in deaths and injuries, including women and children.

The National Defense Council commended the high level of competence demonstrated by the Armed Forces across various fronts and axes, and their exemplary steadfastness, discipline, and readiness. It also praised their ability to repel attacks by the Houthi terrorist militia, thwart its destructive schemes, and inflict painful losses in personnel and equipment.

The Council particularly commended the performance and heroic actions of the Armed Forces on the fronts in Marib and along the western coast of Taiz Governorate, noting their vigilance and capability in deterring Houthi escalation and protecting citizens, vital sites, and facilities. It affirmed that the militias’ targeting of displacement camps, civilian objects, and economic facilities would yield no gains on the ground and would neither weaken the Armed Forces’ resolve nor undermine their firm determination to end the coup.

In this context, the National Defense Council praised the growing awareness among tribal communities and social figures, as well as their responsible stance in rejecting the calls for mobilization and recruitment issued by the Houthi militias. It called on sheikhs, community leaders, dignitaries, and parents to protect their children from recruitment campaigns and prevent them from being drawn into futile battles and deadly conflicts that serve neither the interests of the Yemeni people nor their national priorities.

The National Defense Council also commended the efforts of the Crisis Management Committee, chaired by the Prime Minister. It commended the plans and measures developed by its government team to ensure the readiness of state institutions and their ability to protect citizens and maintain the continuity of essential services under all circumstances.

The Council directed the government, local authorities, and relevant agencies to promptly assess and address the damage caused by the Houthi terrorist attacks and rehabilitate the affected public and service facilities. It also called for providing the necessary medical care to the wounded, supporting the families of those killed in the attacks across the governorates, and taking measures to mitigate their humanitarian and economic impact on citizens.

The National Defense Council stressed the need to maintain the highest levels of military and security readiness across all fronts and axes, strengthen the early-warning system, and enhance the protection of vital and sovereign facilities and civilian objects.

It also ordered the expansion of air and missile deterrence operations against sources of threat, in coordination among the various military formations and fronts, and the intensification of intelligence and security efforts to pursue cells and smuggling, supply, and internal support networks of the militias. These efforts are to be linked to a swift and effective judicial process, thereby strengthening the integration of the state’s military, security, and legal instruments in confronting terrorist threats.

The Council reiterated its high appreciation for the leading role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the steadfast support it provides to the Yemeni people and their political leadership at all levels. It also praised the Kingdom’s leadership in promoting the security and stability of Yemen and the region, leading regional and international efforts to confront sources of threat and terrorism, and safeguarding the security of navigation and international waterways.

The National Defense Council also praised the unity of the international community and its clear stances in holding the Houthi militias responsible for the escalation and for threatening the security of Yemen, the region, and international waterways. It stressed the importance of implementing these procedures into more effective measures to deter the militias and cut off their sources of funding and arms.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Yahya Al-Shuaibi, Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic.
