
President Al- Alimi receives the Secretary-General of Arab League

His Excellency, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi President of the Presidential Leadership Council along with Council member Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi received today, Wednesday, at his residence in New York, the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, on the sidelines of the sessions of the United Nations General Assembly, which began on Tuesday.
In the meeting, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council renewed his praise for the role of the Arab League and its General Secretariat in supporting the cause of the Yemeni people and advocating for it in all regional and international forums.
The President of the Presidential Leadership Council, briefed the Secretary-General of the Arab League, on the situation in Yemen and the commendable mediation efforts of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman in order to renew the truce and launch a comprehensive political process under the auspices of the United Nations.
For his part, Aboul Gheit affirmed the Arab League’s firm position on the side of Yemen and its people, to achieve their aspirations and restore state institutions, security, stability, development, and peace.
The meeting was attended by Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic, Dr. Yahya Al-Shuaibi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Ahmed bin Mubarak, Yemen’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Abdullah Al-Saadi and Assistant Secretary General at the League of Arab States,Hossam Zaki.
