President Al-Alimi receives Emirati Foreign Minister

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, along with the Member of the Council Aidarous al-Zubaidi received today, Tuesday, Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al-Nahyan on the sideline of the sessions of the UNGA.

In the meeting, the UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs conveyed the greetings of  His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates to President Al- Alimi , wishing him good health and happiness, and for the Yemeni people security, stability, and peace.

In turn, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, conveyed his greetings and the Council members to the UAE’s leadership through Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, wishing them good health and wellness, and for for the brotherly Emirati people further progress and prosperity.

The meeting touched upon Bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and the prospects to further enhancing them in different field.

The President praised the distinguished Yemeni-Emirati relationships, deeply appreciating the UAE's role, its sacrifices within the Arab Coalition in support of legitimacy and the UAE’s developmental and humanitarian interventions to alleviate the Yemeni people's suffering, and to achieve its aspirations in eliminating the Houthi militias' coup, restore the state's institutions, development and peace.

President Al-Alimi briefed the Emeriti Minister on the Yemeni situation, latest developments including the chances to achieve the fair and comprehensive peace in pursuant to the nationally, regionally and internationally agreed on terms of reference of the peace in light of the intransigence of the Iran- backed Houthi militias.

 The Emirati Foreign Minister confirmed his country's continuing support for the Presidential Leadership Council, the government and the coordinated economic and financial support with the brothers and friends. 

The meeting was attended by Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic, Dr. Yahya Al-Shuaibi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Ahmed bin Mubarak, Yemen’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Abdullah Al-Saadi., and Yemen's Ambassador to the United States, Mohammed Al-Hadhrami.

From the Emirati side, the meeting was attended by the Minister of State in the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Khalifa Shaheen.
