His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, met today, Monday, with Dr. Ahmed Obaid Bin Dagher, Chairman of the Shura Council. The meeting discussed the arrangements for convening the council and the reformation of the National Supreme Authority for Combating Corruption, in accordance with the decisions and recommendations of the Presidential Leadership Council.

His Excellency the President was briefed by the Chairman of the Shura Council on the upcoming steps for implementing the Presidential Leadership Council's decision to restructure the National Supreme Authority for Combating Corruption. This includes preparations to open nominations for membership in the Authority, in line with legal requirements and the transitional phase’s references, particularly the Declaration of Power Transfer and the Riyadh Agreement.

Additionally the President received an update on the activities of the Shura Council Presidency and its various committees during the past period, as well as the council's plans and proposed agenda for the near future.

The meeting addressed local developments and the advisory support needed to enhance the performance of state institutions, alongside the efforts of the executive authority to expedite the implementation of the economic recovery plan. Additionally, it discussed the policies and measures taken to alleviate the humanitarian suffering exacerbated by the attacks of Iran-backed terrorist Houthi militias on oil facilities and international shipping lanes.

In this context, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council reiterated appreciation for the stances of the brothers in the Coalition to Support Legitimacy, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, alongside the Yemeni people. He expressed gratitude for their continued support of the state’s general budget to meet its essential obligations, particularly paying employee salaries and providing goods and basic services for millions of Yemenis across the country.

The meeting further addressed the situation in Al-Bayda Governorate, including the interventions taken and needed to deter the terrorism of the Houthi militias and their egregious violations of human rights in the village of "Hankat Al-Mas'oud" in the Al-Qurayshiyah district. These violations include targeting and bombing the homes of innocent civilians using various types of weapons and drones, as well as imposing a suffocating siege on the area, preventing residents from accessing medical services and food supplies for the second consecutive week.
