The Presidential Leadership Council Directs Comprehensive Reforms to Enhance the Efficiency of State Institutions

Today, Tuesday, the Presidential Leadership Council continued its meetings chaired by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Council and attended by its members Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, Sultan Al-Arada, Abdulrahman Al-Mahrami, Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, Othman Mujali, Faraj Al-Bahsani, and via video call, Council member Tariq Saleh.
The meeting, attended by Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, discussed the latest developments on the national arena, as well as the government’s efforts to secure services and alleviate the humanitarian suffering caused by the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias.
The council was briefed by the Prime Minister on a report detailing economic and institutional performance indicators over the past period, along with the trajectory of comprehensive reforms and the measures required to strengthen the government’s role in addressing challenges and improving its performance at both central and local levels.
The Presidential Leadership Council emphasized its directives to ensure the return of all state institutions to operate from the interim capital Aden and liberated governorates, to promptly address economic and service challenges, strengthen anti-corruption efforts, improve public revenue, reduce expenditures, and act on recommendations from supporting bodies and regional and international partners.
The council urged the government to intensify efforts to facilitate humanitarian organizations’ interventions, ease the movement of aid workers, and enable them to reach local communities. It also stressed the need to expedite the reformation of the Supreme Relief Committee and establish a national body dedicated to caring for the wounded and families of martyrs.
The council reaffirmed the importance of completing measures to enhance anti-corruption mechanisms, including restructuring the Central Organization for Control and Auditing and forming the Supreme Committee for Tenders and Auctions, along with the High Authority for Tender and Auction Control, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
The council also reviewed a report from Lieutenant General Mohsen Al-Daari, the Minister of Defense, and Lieutenant General Sagheer bin Aziz, the Chief of General Staff and Commander of Joint Operations, on the military situation and the readiness of forces across various fronts. It commended the high vigilance demonstrated by the armed forces and all military formations in resolutely confronting the aggressions of the Iran-backed Houthi militia.
