His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, departed the interim capital Aden today, Thursday, heading to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to hold consultations with regional and international partners regarding developments in Yemen and the region. The discussions will focus on efforts required to support economic and service-sector reforms and alleviate the humanitarian consequences resulting from the terrorist Houthi attacks backed by the Iranian regime.

A source at the Office of the Presidency stated that the President’s meetings aim to mobilize political and economic support to assist the government in fulfilling its essential obligations—chief among them paying public sector salaries, securing basic goods and services, stabilizing the national currency, and enhancing prospects for economic recovery.

The source affirmed that in his multilateral meetings, the President will explore ways to advance international support for the Yemeni people and their legitimate leadership in restoring state institutions, consolidating security and stability, and ensuring the safety of global maritime navigation, which faces unprecedented threats from the terrorist Houthi militias and their backers.

The source also expressed the Presidential Leadership Council’s confidence in the government’s and all state institutions’ ability to confront challenges and responsibly respond to the needs and aspirations of the Yemeni people for livelihood, security, stability, and peace.

The source also commended the fraternal role of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and other brotherly and friendly countries in supporting the efforts of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government, and in alleviating the suffering exacerbated by the Houthi militia’s war and Iran’s destabilizing interventions in regional and international peace and security.
