Presidential Leadership Council Discusses National And Regional Developments

The Presidential Leadership Council held a meeting today, chaired by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, President of the Council. The meeting was attended by members Major General Aidarus Al-Zubaidi, Major General Tariq Saleh, Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Mahrimi, Dr. Abdullah Alimi, Sheikh Othman Mujali, and Mr. Faraj Al-Bahsani, while member Sultan Al-Arada was absent with an excuse.

The meeting, partially attended by Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, addressed the latest developments in the political, economic, and service related-developments, focusing on the ongoing fluctuations in exchange rates and essential goods prices, as well as efforts to alleviate the humanitarian suffering caused by the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militia. The council also assessed the implementation of its decisions and recommendations related to these issues.

The council reviewed a report on the outcomes of the presidential committee tasked with drafting a national strategy, headed by Council Member, Major General Aidarus al-Zubaidi, to address the requirements and changes of the upcoming phase in political, economic, and military fields. Appropriate decisions and recommendations were made in response to this regard.

The meeting also discussed regional developments and their impact on the national scene, including the recent developments in Syria, Lebanon, and the occupied Palestinian territories, as well as the Houthi terrorist attacks on international shipping lanes and their, destructive consequences on food security and international peace and security.

In this context, the Presidential Leadership Council congratulated the brotherly Syrian people on overthrowing Iranian tutelage over the Syrian Arab Republic and the return of Damascus to the Arab fold. The council affirmed Yemen’s support for Syria’s territorial integrity, independence, sovereignty, and the will of its people for freedom, change, peace, security, and stability.

The council also welcomed the outcomes of the 45th Summit of the Gulf Cooperation Council leaders, where Their Majesties and Highnesses reaffirmed their strong commitment to fully supporting the Presidential Leadership Council and its supporting entities to achieve security and stability in Yemen. They emphasized reaching a comprehensive political solution in line with the Gulf Initiative and its implementation mechanism, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference, and UN Security Council Resolution 2216, ensuring Yemen’s sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity, and independence.
