President Alimi Receives Yemeni Orchestra Conductor

Today, His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, received the Yemeni orchestra, led by Maestro Mohammed Al-Qahoum. The orchestra had performed a joyful musical concert last night at the King Fahd Cultural Center in Riyadh.

During the meeting, which was attended by Mr. Moammar Al-Eryani, Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism, Sheikh Abdullah Buqshan, Chairman of the Hadhramaut Foundation for Culture, Sheikh Abdullah Baahmadan, Foundation member, and singers Arwa and Hussein Moheb. His Excellency the President praised the impressive musical performance of the Yemeni orchestra during the concert organized by the Saudi Ministry of Culture in partnership with the Yemeni Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism, as well as the Hadhramaut Foundation for Culture.

The President expressed his gratitude to the leadership, government, and people of Saudi Arabia for sponsoring the event, which showcased a professional Yemeni orchestra radiating beauty and creativity. The concert stemmed from an inspiring idea of partnership between the government and the national private sector, serving as an effective platform for innovative cultural diplomacy.

The President emphasized the state's commitment to supporting the arts, culture, and literature, including the orchestra, and its distinguished contributions to reviving and presenting Yemen's musical, vocal, and folkloric heritage to the world in a modern, competitive orchestral format.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council pointed out that the meeting with the Yemeni orchestra serves as a message of appreciation to all those involved in this remarkable artistic endeavor. He stressed that this initiative plays a crucial role in the battle for awareness, promoting values of coexistence, peace, and combating racism in all its forms.

His Excellency the President directed that available support be provided to the orchestra and its noble message aimed at conveying a global message of peace, as well as presenting an honorable image of Yemen and its people, highlighting the country’s artistic heritage and humanitarian cultural legacy.

The meeting reviewed the symphonic journey of the orchestra and its future programs to perform concerts in a number of brotherly and friendly countries. Additionally, the meeting discussed opportunities for allocating the proceeds of its artistic endeavors to support humanitarian initiatives and projects in Yemen.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Yahya Al-Shuaibi, Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic, and Engineer Omar Al-Amoudi, Advisor to the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, Member of Parliament.
