
President Al-Alimi offers condolences over the death of MP and former minister, struggler Mahmoud Medhi

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, sent a cable of condolences and sympathy to Munir Mahmoud Saeed Medhi and his brothers, in which he consoled them over the death of their late father, economist and former Minister of Finance, Dr. Mahmoud Medhi. Dr. Medhi passed away after a life full of contributions and loyal struggle in serving his country, people, and country's progress.
The President of the Presidential Leadership Council, on his own behalf, the members of the Council and the Government, expressed his sincere condolences and sympathy to Dr. Medhi's family for their painful loss. He said: "With the passing of Dr. Medhi, the country has lost one of its most prominent men and economists who had remarkable contributions in laying the foundations for the financial, banking, and economic system. Through the numerous governmental positions he had held, including Minister of Finance and trade, in addition to his membership in the Presidency’s Supreme People's Council (SPC), and then as a member of the House of Representatives.
His Excellency the President praised the virtues of the deceased, and his prominent roles in the national movement. His Excellency further prayed to Allah Almighty to cover the deceased with His vast mercy, and inspire his family and loved ones with patience and solace.
