A press release issued by the Office of the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council regarding the recent presidential statements

An official source in the office of the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council has stated that His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-alimi considered with great interest his recent controversial press interview, in which some of its contents were interpreted in a context that does not reflect the true stance of the President of the Council on the southern issue. That misinterpretation does not conform with what was confirmed by references of the transitional phase, including the announcement of the transfer of power, the Riyadh agreement and consultations, regarding the guarantees for a fair solution to this fair national cause.

Accordingly, the source stresses the following:

Confirming the consensus firmness in the Presidential Leadership Council as a comprehensive national carrier to completing the management of the transitional phase, achieving its stated goals under the declaration of transfer of power, and the results of the Riyadh consultations, which confirm the centrality of the southern issue and the necessity of its representation in the negotiations to cease fire and the comprehensive peace process.

The sincere belief in the Southern issue justice was embodied in taking actual measures to make this issue a basis for any solution, starting with empowering the Southern people in decision-making bodies and authorities. The Presidential Leadership Council approved early, forming a negotiating team with the participation of political components, women, and at the forefront the Transitional Council.

The honorable peace that we seek, and the acceleration of ending all outstanding national issues, particularly the southern issue, all these depend on the cohesion of our broad national alliance, whether on the path of military confrontation, or at the negotiating table, in a way that guarantees the restoration of state institutions, ending the Houthi terrorist militias’ coup, and the danger of the Iranian project surrounding our people north as well as south. The Southern cause has achieved an advanced position at the center of the broader national cause, and this achievement should be protected; because it came as a result of the sacrifices and continuous work of the southern components, and all national forces, due to their adherence to preventing the confiscation of the legitimate dreams and aspirations of our people in the Southern part, in addition to their right to determine their political status, achieving its economic, social and cultural development.

The source affirms the right of expression and responsible protest on national issues, provided that emotional handling does not lead us to offend each other, our allies and partners in the Coalition to Support Legitimacy led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates who sacrificed their blood and money in defense of our land, people, and their national and Arab identity. Because following this path of abuse is in the interest of the Iranian project and its agents, as a common enemy for all. Following this path denies the great sacrifices made by our people for the sake of freedom, dignity, and equal citizenship. The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council stresses the political cohesiveness on every occasion, raising the voice of the resistance, glorifying and supporting the role of the armed and security forces in defeating the project of the Persian occupation, and confronting the attempts of the Houthi terrorist militia, to undermine our national alignment, push us away from the interests, concerns of our people, and his continuous pains for the ninth year, because of the war backed by the terrorist militias.

We have great hope that the media will rise to the level of responsibility, and be at the forefront of national voices against the terrorist militias’ coup, their egregious violations of human rights, dignity and freedom. We hope that the media will abide by the values and ethics of the profession, especially when dealing with sensitive issues that would double the suffering of citizens and threaten Public interest, focusing instead on the venerable functions of the press in conveying the truth, censorship, awareness, and education as a highly reliable fourth authority in trust-building efforts, peacemaking, combating corruption, protecting the social make-up and peace, the rule of law, national identity, ensuring broad participation in reconstruction, and development.

This clarification is the embodiment of sharing facts, ideas, indicators of achievement and failures, challenges and hopes with our people on the basis of transparency and clarity, as the best way to fortify our internal front. It is also to enhance security and stability in liberated areas, devote ourselves to rebuilding state institutions, and alleviating human suffering by facilitating Living conditions, work, and improve basic services.
