The speech of his Excellency Dr. Rashad Al Alimi, Chairman of Presidential Leadership Council

  Riyadh:

Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, who says: (And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided). Blessings and peace be upon His Truthful and Trustworthy Messenger.

O great Yemeni people:

Today is a historical day for the Yemeni people, in which we are united and all the political forces in our country agreed in an effort to end war and build peace by declaring the Presidential Leadership Council. This council represents all the entities that express our Yemeni people in their various sects. It is an expression of the goal, the common destiny and the aim that our people aspire to achieve peace, stability, sovereignty, prosperity and accomplishment. We look forward to this blessed council being a turning point in the process of restoring the state, its institutions and achieving the aspirations of our people for security, stability and development.

O great Yemeni people:

The Presidential Leadership Council pledges to God and to you to be preserving the constitution and national constants. The Council also affirms its full commitment to the Gulf initiative, its implementation mechanism, the outcomes of the Comprehensive National Dialogue and the Riyadh Agreement (and the contents of the outcomes of the Yemeni-Yemeni consultations held in Riyadh under the auspices of the GCC), its commitment to the provisions of international law, international norms and UN resolutions. The Council is committed to work to spare Yemen the ambitions of the greedy (those who target its Arabism ,its social and geographical fabric), to work to give priority to the national interest over all interests, to take upon itself your concerns, hopes, sufferings, aspirations, to set its sights on working to achieve your demands, and to do its utmost to address the political, economic, social and security challenges in all parts of our beloved Yemen (North and South) without discrimination in all Yemeni regions without exception.

The Presidential Leadership Council promises our Yemeni people to work to end the war and establish peace. This council is a council of peace, not of war. However, it is also a Council of defense, strength and unity whose mission is to defend the sovereignty of the homeland and protect the citizens.

On this occasion, I extend my thanks and appreciation to President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi for taking this brave decision and for the confidence he bestowed on the Council. We also thank the Legitimacy Support Coalition led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for their unlimited support to the Yemeni government and people in various political, economic and humanitarian fields, as well as for their continuous efforts to bring about comprehensive and permanent peace in our country.

We also appreciate the efforts of the UN Secretary-General envoy and the USA envoy, for their efforts to bring peace to our country. We also affirm our support for the political technocrat government, which was formed in accordance with the Riyadh Agreement. In addition, we affirm our support for the reforms the government is carrying out to solve economic problems, combat corruption, and normalize service conditions.

O great Yemeni people:

The Presidential Leadership Council will stand as a bulwark against terrorism in all its forms. It will also work to combat sectarian conflicts that are intrusive to our Yemeni society, which destroy us, divide us, and fragment our social fabric. So that our Yemeni people can live as brothers under the sovereignty of law and achieve equality and justice for all in a state of law and order, a modern civil state that maintains the basic rights of Yemenis to freedom and dignity for all members of society (through a comprehensive peace process that guarantees everyone the realization of their legitimate goals and aspirations).

We also call upon our great Yemeni people and all national forces to rally around restoring the state, to renounce differences and disagreements, to direct all efforts to restore the state and its institutions and to achieve security and stability for our country.

In this blessed month, I salute all the heroes in the national army, the security men, the popular resistance, and all the steadfast military forces and formations on all fronts to confront the Iranian backed coup with the aim of restoring the state and achieving a comprehensive and just peace.

May God help us to serve our people and achieve their aspirations,

Mercy and eternity to all our martyrs

Healing for our wounded heroes

Freedom for prisoners and detainees

Greetings and homage to all the stationed defenders of the Arabism of the Great Yemen

And all peace for Yemen and Yemenis.
