His Excellency the President, Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, received Judge Mohsen Yahya Taleb, the Chief of the Supreme Judiciary Council, Judge Ali Al-Awash, the Chief of the Supreme Court, Judge Badr Al-Arda, the Minister of Justice, Judge Qaher Mustafa, the Public Prosecutor, and a number of members of the Judicial Council and heads of departments, courts, divisions, and prosecution appeals offices in the liberated governorates. The meeting took place in the context of Ramadan consultative meetings with the leaders and higher authorities of the state.

At the beginning of the meeting, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council welcomed the Chief and members of the Judicial Council and the judiciary, noting the role of this national institution in cohesive state institutions, protecting social peace, and strengthening unity in facing various challenges.

His Excellency also congratulated the respected judges on the occasion of these blessed days of Ramadan, “in which they are at the forefront of doing good and giving through the Public Prosecution’s estimated measures to release hundreds of prisoners and reunite them with their families in one of the most important manifestations of the holy month.”

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council expressed his appreciation for the effective role of the judiciary in the collective efforts to build the best model in the liberated governorates. He stressed that he and his fellow council members are aware of the conditions of judges as part of the common suffering caused by the terrorist Houthi militias supported by the Iranian regime.

The President stressed the importance of the redoubled efforts and continuous work required by the current construction phase to establish the foundations of the state and strengthen the rule of law, which places on the judiciary the enormous national task of preserving all rights.

The President renewed the full commitment of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government to the independence of the judiciary, facilitating its tasks and enforcing its rulings in accordance with the Constitution and the law, based on the deep belief that the judiciary is the source of justice and the basis of governance.

His Excellency the President pointed to the tangible improvement in the judicial and security situation in the liberated governorates, expressing his aspiration to enhance these aspects of success at various levels.

He stressed that the Leadership Council and the government consider the judiciary as an impenetrable fence to preserve national achievements and gains, and protect social peace, and not as a means of revenge and eliminating of opponents as the Houthi militias do. Which requires a conscious response to some strategic decisions for serving the sincere national project for the rule of law and equal citizenship.

The President praised the achievements made by the judiciary during the past two years since the formation of the Presidential Leadership Council. These achievements included the number of cases that were adjudicated, amounting to approximately 68 thousand cases, leading to the Public Prosecution’s procedures to release more than 700 prisoners, just this year. His Excellency considered this an important indicator of fairness and shared responsibility among all authorities to achieve popular satisfaction with the existing consensus.

He also pointed to the achievements made in judicial reforms, including joint efforts to prepare a strategy to modernize the judiciary, and begin preparing the executive regulations for the Judicial Fees Law and its amendments. He said that such efforts “deserve support and encouragement because they enhance your independence and ensure the presence and cohesion of the judiciary in various circumstances.”

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council listened to the interventions of the Chief and members of the Judicial Council, and the heads of departments, courts, divisions, and appellate prosecution offices. Which focused on the conditions of the judicial authority and the support required to improve the performance of the judicial bodies and enable them to carry out their constitutional and legal tasks to the fullest extent.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Yahya Al-Shuaibi, Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic.
