President Al-Alimi Receives Leaders of the Political Bureau of the National Resistance
Aden
His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, received today, Monday, the leaders of the Political Bureau of the National Resistance, headed by the First Deputy Chairman of the Bureau, Sheikh Nasser Bajil.
The President welcomed the leaders of the Political Bureau in a meeting that comes as part of broader consultations with all active forces and components in the Yemeni political arena. These discussions focused on the requirements and challenges of the current phase, as well as ways to mobilize capabilities and energies to support efforts to restore state institutions and fulfill the Yemeni people’s aspirations for stability, peace, and development.
His Excellency affirmed that such meetings are a priority for the Presidential Leadership Council, as they reflect a commitment to wide-ranging consultations with political forces, uphold the principles of transparency and partnership, and reinforce unity and coherence during these critical and exceptional times in Yemen’s history.
The President praised the role of the National Resistance, led by Brigadier General Tariq Saleh, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, in confronting the Houthi (Imamate) project backed by the Iranian regime, as well as the humanitarian interventions coordinated with local authorities in various governorates.
He also expressed his pride, along with fellow members of the Council, in the responsible national role played by all political forces and components in defending the republican system and resisting Iran’s expansionist agenda in Yemen and the region.
The President emphasized the Council and government’s keenness to consider the substantive observations and proposals of political parties and components to improve governance, in line with the references guiding the transitional phase and the country’s political laws.
His Excellency briefed the leaders of the Political Bureau on the overall domestic developments, particularly the economic and financial challenges facing the government, and the available options for turning them into opportunities for recovery based on self-resources.
His Excellency clarified that this crisis is not recent but the result of terrorist attacks and accumulated complications that the state could not face alone—were it not for the support of the Arab Coalition to Restore Legitimacy, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, as well as valued interventions from regional and international partners. The President reiterated the importance of strengthening national cohesiveness and focusing efforts on the battle to restore state institutions—where true partnership lies—in achieving the people’s aspirations, completing liberation efforts, and building a just state founded on equal citizenship and the criminalization of all forms of racism.
He also underscored the need for a unified media discourse to support government efforts in rebuilding state institutions, improving public revenues, working from within, and advancing comprehensive reforms based on transparency, governance principles, and solid partnerships with regional and international donors.
The President spoke about key security achievements, including the arrest of terrorist cells linked to the Houthi militia and affiliated groups, and the foiling of their sabotage plans in several liberated governorates.
During the meeting, the President listened to a briefing from the leaders of the Political Bureau of the National Resistance on their efforts to strengthen republican unity and their proposals for improving coordination among all national forces and ensuring shared decision-making that reflects the will of the Yemeni people.
He also listened to a presentation on the Bureau’s vision for engaging with political and economic developments, mitigating humanitarian suffering, and building broad national partnerships to fulfill the entitlements outlined in the transitional phase references.
The meeting was attended by Major General Saleh Al-Muqaleh, Director of the Office of the President of the Presidential Leadership Council.
