His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, (PLC) stressed that Yemen's sovereignty, security, stability and its territorial integrity are firm principles, that should not be compromised.

In his speech to the Yemeni people on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan, president Al- Alimi stated " Yemen's sovereignty is a constitutional firm principle, the ongoing battle to restore the state's institution and its  control over all Yemeni territories has been a key part of this principle. Since Houthi militias have carried out its coup against the official government, taken control over significant regions of the country, using military force in an Iranian attempt to occupy Yemen, violate its sovereignty, independence and separate it from its Gulf fabric and Arab identity

In this context, His Excellency pointed out that " Houthi militias' fake cry over sovereignty to justify their terrorist operations in the Red Sea was not surprising, as it is their failed and expected approach that they have been known for since their suspicious creation to evade any internal obligations and continue damaging our people’s interests in serving the Iranian expansion scheme in the region."

The president of the Presidential Leadership Council explained in a speech delivered on his own behalf by the Minister of Endowments and Guidance, Mr. Mohammed 'Aida Shabiba, that the Houthi militias are vainly trying , with this escalation, to break their international isolation and impose a fait accompli to speak on behalf of Yemenis who have bravely fought against the Houthis’ racist project for a whole decade, and they will continue to do so until the end.

The President noted that the consequences of these hostile rogue actions have catastrophic impacts on Yemeni people and chain of commodity supplies due to the increase of the costs of shipping and insurances. Pointing to the growing risk of  famine which the Yemeni government has been struggling with the support of brothers and friends to avoid over the past years, moreover long-standing environmental and economic impacts upon food and national security.

The president of the Presidential Leadership Council affirmed that the Council and the government are  full aware of the Yemeni people’s suffering, which has been prolonged and intensified as the militias' intransigence and recklessness have grown towards all peace efforts, and the efforts of restoring coexistence that prevailed in this country throughout history.

He added, "Therefore, the government continues to work tirelessly from inside the country to limit the consequences of the terrorist militia attacks on oil facilities that resulted in the cessation of oil exports since 16 months. This includes prioritizing improving national currency’s position, ensuring the sustainability of services, and paying employees’ salaries, which have been further eroded by the Houthi terrorist escalation against maritime shipping.

He reiterated the state’s commitment to comprehensive reforms and improving non-oil revenues, with the citizen being the focus of attention and the essence of State’s service, developmental plans and programs across various sectors.

President Al- Alimi continued: "I will be honest with you, the encouraging surplus achieved by the general state budget in the first year of the formation of the Presidential Leadership Council turned into a distressing deficit in the following year. However, with the help of Allah, the cooperation of all components, and the support of the brothers and friends, we have managed to restore balance by focusing on the imperative obligations towards our patient citizens."

He expressed his confidence that with more work and patience, the government will continue to move forward in restoring reform momentum, development, and taking all necessary measures to thwart and deter the militias' schemes and the Iranian regime that supports them.

He addressed the citizens in Sana'a and Houthi- controlled areas, saying, "We have exerted every effort and made all possible concessions to resume paying your salaries, but the corrupt militias refuse to end the suffering."

In this context, he noted, "It is strange that these militias would exploit the suffering of the Palestinian people while continuing to commit the worst violations, impoverishment and starvation policies, against our fellow citizens. They confiscate their properties and prevent any means of assistance in areas forcibly under their control "

He emphasized that the government continues to present more initiatives to test the intentions of the militias in positively engaging with humanitarian issues and improving living conditions. There is nothing easier than opening the roads, canceling arbitrary fees on citizens' remittances from liberated governorates, lifting restrictions on private sector activities and humanitarian interventions, ensuring freedom of movement for individuals, essential goods, and relief agencies.

His Excellency renewed the government's call and initiative for the comprehensive release of detainees, kidnapped, and prisoners, based on the rule of "all for all," in order to end thousands of our people’s  suffering and reunite them with their grieving families.

He directed relevant authorities on this great religious occasion to release prisoners who have served three-quarters or half of their sentences, and considering the release on commercial guarantee for those detained for charges related to private rights. He also directed to form  committees in Governorates, consisting of public prosecution offices, local authorities, and chambers of commerce, to assist insolvent debtors.

In this context, he referred to the formation of a presidential -governmental committee to assess the conditions of central prisons and turn them into rehabilitation, correction, and welfare centers in accordance with national and international laws.

President al- Alimi called on businessmen and philanthropists to reach out and help those in need under the difficult living conditions that our country and its resilient people are living. He prayed to Allah Almighty for mercy on the martyrs, recovery for the wounded, in addition, His Excellency prayed to Allah to help everyone make the best out of these blessed days and nights of the holy month by performing good deeds, upholding the ties of kinship, self- discipline, practicing forgiveness, and spreading joy in people's hearts. He also prayed to protect our country, our people, and all the other countries and peoples of the world from harm and evil.
