A presidential decree to establish Counter-Terrorism Service

Today, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, issued Decree No. (6) of 2024, regarding the establishment of a specialized security service called the Counter-Terrorism Service, headquartered in the interim capital of Aden, and linked to the Chairman of the Supreme Security Committee.
The decree regulated the tasks and powers of the Service and its organizational structure. The organizational regulations for the Service shall be issued in a decree by the President of the Presidential Leadership Council and shall have an independent budget and financial system, and shall be subject to the supervision of the Supreme Security Committee.
The decree obligated the Service to quickly refer cases of the accused, seized items, and all related matters to the Central Agency for State Security or the competent judicial authorities.
The final Article of this decree stipulated that this decree shall be implemented as of the date of its issuance, and it shall be published in the Official Gazette and military bulletins.
