
President and Members of Presidential Leadership Council meet with Saudi Defense Minister

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Leadership Council (PLC) met today, Wednesday, with His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Salman Minister of Defense in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), in the presence of Council members: Aidarous al-Zubaidi, Tariq Saleh, Abdurhman al-Mahrami, Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi, Othman Mujalli and Faraj al-Bahssani.
In the meeting, His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Salman conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, to President Al- Alimi and Council members, wishing Yemen and its people security, stability, and peace.
On his part, President Al- Alimi and Council members extended their sincere greetings and congratulations to the Saudi leadership on the great success of the Arab-Islamic Summit.
The meeting touched upon the latest developments in the Yemeni situation, and the joint efforts to support the peace process in Yemen, including cooperation and coordination between the two sides regarding the roadmap proposed by the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In addition the meeting discussed matters of common interest on both regional and international scenes.
President Al- Alimi and members of the Presidential Leadership Council briefed the Saudi Minister on the latest developments in the Yemeni situation and prospects for resuming the peace process amid the continued intransigence by the Houthi militias, their grave human rights violations, and their military escalation on various fronts.
President and members of the Presidential Leadership Council reaffirmed their full support for the Saudi efforts to renew the truce , alleviate Yemeni people’s suffering, and launch a comprehensive political process that ensures restoring State institutions, security, stability, and development in the country.
President Al- Alimi praised KSA’s firm position in support of Yemeni people and its political leadership throughout different stages and circumstances. The Council highly appreciated the Kingdom's keenness to put an end to the humanitarian suffering caused by the Iran- backed Houthi militias.
During the meeting, His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Salman reiterated the Kingdom's commitment to support the Presidential Leadership Council, encouraging Yemeni parties to reach a comprehensive and sustainable political solution to end the Yemeni crisis under UN supervision to achieve security, peace, stability, and development in Yemen.
The meeting was attended by Mohammed bin Saeed Al Jaber, the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Republic of Yemen, and Hisham bin Abdulaziz bin Saif, the Director General of the Defense Minister's Office.
