His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), received a phone call today, Wednesday, from Lebanese President Joseph Aoun. The two leaders discussed bilateral relations and ways to strengthen coordination between the two countries to address and deter common challenges.

President Aoun reaffirmed Lebanon’s steadfast support for the Yemeni people and their political leadership under all circumstances. He also expressed Lebanon’s support for the aspirations of Yemenis to restore state institutions and achieve security, stability and peace.

President Al-Alimi expressed his appreciation to President Aoun for Lebanon’s fraternal stances. He reaffirmed Yemen’s solidarity with the brotherly Lebanese people and its support for President Aoun and his government’s efforts to extend the authority of the Lebanese state over all its territory and ensure that weapons remain exclusively in the hands of its legitimate institutions.

The PLC President pointed to the shared destiny of the Yemeni and Lebanese peoples, given the challenges facing both countries as a result of the intransigence of terrorist militias and their seizure of the decisions of war and peace.

The two presidents affirmed their commitment to continued consultations and coordination of positions at Arab and international forums, in support of their respective sovereignty and the security and stability of the region and its waterways.
