President receives the United Nations Special Envoy

His Excellency the President, Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, received today, Wednesday, along with Council Member Othman Majali, the United Nations Special Envoy, Hans Grundberg, and his assistant, Moeen Shrim.
The President of the Presidential Leadership Council and the member of the Council were briefed by the United Nations envoy regarding his recent contacts on the local, regional and international levels, the efforts aimed at renewing the truce and resuming a comprehensive political process under the auspices of the United Nations.
During the meeting, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council briefed the UN envoy on the Houthi militias’ violations of public rights and freedoms, their mobilization and their ongoing violations on various fronts, including their recent cross-border attacks.
The President of the Presidential Leadership Council affirmed the commitment of the Council and the government to support the commendable efforts of the UN envoy in accordance with the terms of reference agreed upon nationally, regionally, and internationally.
His Excellency also stressed the importance of putting more pressure on the Houthi militias in order to give priority to the interests of the Yemeni people over the interests of their leaders and supporters, and to deal seriously with the ongoing efforts to renew the truce in order to alleviate human suffering and revive hope for restoring security and stability in the country.
