Aden
The Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) held a meeting today, Monday, chaired by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, President of the Council. The meeting was attended by all its members: Sultan Al-Aradah, Tariq Saleh, Abdulrahman Al-Muharrami, Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, Othman Mujalli, Mahmoud Al-Subaihi, and Salem Al-Khanbashi.
The meeting focused on developments at all levels, foremost among them the military escalation by the Houthi terrorist militias. This included missile and drone attacks against state institutions and civilian facilities, as well as expanding attacks on cities and villages. These attacks have coincided with the continued siege of Taiz, shelling of its residential neighborhoods, assaults on civilian objects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and threats to waterways and international shipping.
The meeting heard a briefing from the President of the Presidential Leadership Council on the outcomes of his contacts and consultations with a number of regional and international leaders and officials. The discussions focused on coordinating urgent efforts to respond to the humanitarian crisis, supporting state institutions, halting the flow of weapons to the militias, and protecting the security of Yemen and the region.
The Council also received field reports on the progress of military operations across various battlefronts. The reports highlighted the advances made by the Armed Forces and the Popular Resistance, with substantial support from the Coalition to Support Legitimacy, under “Dawn of Yemen” Operation on the fronts of Al-Jawf, Marib, and the West Coast. They also highlighted the heroic steadfastness of the forces on the Taiz fronts.
The meeting paid tribute to the heroes of the Armed Forces, security forces, all military formations, and the Popular Resistance for their courage and outstanding performance in confronting the Houthi militias’ escalation and inflicting heavy losses in personnel and equipment. It stressed that such steadfastness would not have been possible without the unwavering support of our faithful brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Council prayed for the souls of the righteous martyrs from the Armed Forces and all military formations, and wished the wounded and injured a speedy recovery.
The Council directed the relevant authorities to continue caring for the families of martyrs and providing the wounded with the necessary treatment and care. It also stressed the need to ensure that they receive their guaranteed rights, describing this as a constitutional and moral obligation that brooks no negligence or delay.
In this context, the Presidential Leadership Council renewed its sincere thanks and appreciation to the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, for their comprehensive support to the Yemeni people. It also expressed appreciation for their swift response to the needs of Taiz and other governorates through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre, the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY), and other Saudi institutions and initiatives.
The Presidential Leadership Council reaffirmed its determination to press ahead with “Dawn of Yemen” Operation until all its objectives are achieved, including ending the coup, restoring state institutions, and extending state authority over the entire national territory.
The Council renewed its appeal to citizens in areas forcibly controlled by the militias not to allow their sons to be drawn into futile battles that lead only to death. It urged them to reject cooperation with the militias’ military and security activities and refuse to respond to their mobilization campaigns. The Council also called on families to protect their sons from recruitment and indoctrination.
It stressed that the door remains open for a safe return for anyone who lays down arms and ceases fighting alongside the terrorist militias, in accordance with the announced procedures.
The Council commended the efforts of the government, local authorities, and host communities across the governorates in receiving, sheltering, and supporting displaced people. It also praised popular initiatives and humanitarian relief convoys. The Council stressed the importance of strengthening support for these efforts, providing food, water, medicine, and shelter, and facilitating the delivery of assistance to those in need.
