President Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, held extensive consultations today, Thursday, on developments on the ground in Taiz Governorate.

He received briefings from PLC members Lt. Gen. Abdulrahman Al-Mahrami and Lt. Gen. Mahmoud Al-Subaihi, the Minister of Defense, the Chief of the General Staff, the Commander of the Fourth Military Region, and military and security commanders in the governorate on developments across the various fronts. The briefings also covered measures taken to respond to attacks and infiltration attempts launched by the Houthi terrorist militias over the past several hours.

President Al-Alimi also heard briefings on the progress of military operations, the readiness of units deployed along the various fronts, and measures taken to secure roads and supply lines. The briefings further addressed efforts to thwart the militias’ attempts to make advances on the ground, as well as the human and material losses they have sustained as a result of clashes and precision strikes targeting their positions and reinforcements on various fronts.

The PLC President praised the exceptional bravery demonstrated by the Armed Forces, all military formations, and the popular resistance forces on the Taiz fronts. He stressed that the developments on the ground once again demonstrate the readiness and capability of the Armed Forces to thwart the militias’ plans and to steadily fulfill their constitutional and national duty to protect citizens and restore state institutions.

President Al-Alimi said that, following their successive setbacks and heavy losses on the battlefield, the Houthi militias are attempting to compensate for their military failures through a widespread psychological warfare campaign. He said they are seeking to mislead citizens, spread rumors and alarmist narratives, and exploit their control over telecommunications networks to spread fear and confusion among the population.

He added that such tactics would not alter the realities on the ground or undermine the morale of the Yemeni people and their Armed Forces. He affirmed that the state is fully aware of the nature of this psychological warfare and its tools, and that its military and security institutions would address it with responsibility and resolve.

President Al-Alimi directed that infiltrating elements be isolated and that areas, roads, and vital facilities be secured. He also ordered the necessary security and technical measures to prevent the militias from using communication and telecommunications networks to conduct acts of sabotage, spread rumors, or cause panic among citizens.

His Excellency further called for firm action against any activity targeting the home front or seeking to undermine the security and public order of the governorate.

President Al-Alimi said the scale of the militias’ losses, along with the precision strikes against their positions, reinforcements, and military capabilities, exposes the gap between the propaganda they seek to promote and the reality on the battlefield. He affirmed that the Armed Forces would continue carrying out their duties in accordance with approved plans and operations.

“The militias started this war and chose escalation as their path. But our Armed Forces, with the will of our people and the support of our brothers, will bring it to an end in a way that fulfills Yemenis’ aspirations to restore their state, security, freedom, and dignity,” President Al-Alimi said.

He added that operations would proceed as planned, steadily and responsibly, until state institutions and the capital, Sana’a, are restored and the coup is ended. This would bring a definitive end to the cycle of war and suffering created by the terrorist militias with the support of the Iranian regime.

President Al-Alimi praised the steadfastness of the people of Taiz Governorate, their support for state institutions and the Armed Forces, and the sacrifices they are making in defense of the republican system. He affirmed that Taiz has been and will remain one of the nation’s major strongholds. He stressed that attempts to subjugate it or break its will would fail, as previous attempts had failed.

The PLC President also called on citizens in areas forcibly controlled by the militias not to be drawn into campaigns of mobilization and misinformation, and not to allow their sons to be sent into futile attacks. He renewed the state’s commitment to its initiative for a safe return and affirmed that its doors remain open to anyone who chooses to side with the republic, the state, and its national institutions.
