President Al-Alimi Receives Reply Letter from Emir of Kuwait

President Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), received today, Tuesday, a reply letter from Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait.

The letter was delivered by Kuwaiti Ambassador to Yemen Mr.  Falah Fahad Al-Mutairi during his meeting with President Al-Alimi. The reply letter was in response to a letter previously sent by President Al-Alimi and delivered to the Kuwaiti Emir by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Dr. Afrah Al-Zouba.

During the meeting, the Kuwaiti ambassador conveyed the greetings of Emir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah to President Al-Alimi and the members of the PLC. He also conveyed their wishes for the President and his PLC colleagues continued health and happiness, and for security, stability, and peace for the Yemeni people.

For his part, President Al-Alimi asked Ambassador Al-Mutairi to convey his greetings, as well as those of the PLC members, to the Kuwaiti leadership. He also expressed their wishes for continued progress and prosperity for the brotherly Kuwaiti people under its wise leadership.

President Al-Alimi commended Kuwait’s steadfast and sincere support for Yemen, its people, political leadership, and national institutions, as well as its support for Yemen’s security, stability, unity, and territorial sovereignty.

He also praised Kuwait’s political role in supporting the Yemeni government at various regional and international forums, as well as its generous humanitarian and development assistance. He noted that Kuwait has implemented projects over decades that have had a lasting impact on the lives of Yemenis. The President expressed the government’s desire to further strengthen Kuwait’s development and humanitarian role at all levels.

President Al-Alimi also affirmed the government’s commitment to providing all necessary facilities and guarantees for Kuwaiti businesses to operate across Yemen’s governorates. He noted that the unification of institutional decision-making would help create a conducive environment for the resumption of Kuwaiti projects during the coming period.

The President briefed the Kuwaiti ambassador on the latest developments in Yemen, in light of the escalation of military operations and criminal attacks by the Houthi terrorist militias inside Yemen and across the border with Saudi Arabia. He also addressed the militias’ threats to international shipping lanes in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait.

President Al-Alimi reaffirmed the state’s commitment to fulfilling the Yemeni people’s aspirations to restore their national institutions and end the coup. He said this forms part of a broader effort to protect regional security from projects of chaos backed by the Iranian regime.

The President renewed the Republic of Yemen’s condemnation of Iran’s blatant attacks targeting the State of Kuwait, stressing that Kuwait’s security is an integral part of Yemen’s and the region’s security.

He also commended the competence of the Kuwaiti armed forces in deterring threats, as well as Kuwait’s leading role in strengthening Arab solidarity and defending regional security and stability.
