A source at the Office of the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces said that His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, is closely monitoring developments on the ground and the course of military operations on the fronts in Taiz Governorate.

President Al-Alimi is monitoring these developments around the clock together with his fellow members of the Council, amid the ongoing escalation by the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias.

President Al-Alimi continued today, Friday, to hold meetings and telephone calls with military and field commanders to receive briefings on the progress of operations and the level of combat readiness. He was briefed on the operational and logistical needs of the Armed Forces and all military formations deployed in the theater of operations.

President Al-Alimi held the Houthi terrorist militias fully responsible for the humanitarian consequences of their escalation and the violations they are committing against civilians. These violations include the displacement of hundreds of families from areas of confrontation, reflecting a blatant disregard for the lives of Yemenis.

He said the militias remain determined to use their people and communities as fuel for their sectarian project and the agenda of their backers.

The President stressed that the state and its Armed Forces will not allow the Iranian regime to achieve its objective of controlling the Bab Al-Mandab Strait under any circumstances. He said that any adventure toward these areas would turn into a severe war of attrition for the terrorist militias.

The Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces said that the Yemeni people, who are following this battle with confidence and pride, should rest assured that their Armed Forces are fighting today with firm resolve, unified leadership, and a full understanding of the nature of the battle and the enemy’s objectives. He stressed that these militias will not be more capable of holding out than the will of an entire people defending its state, dignity, and future.

President Al-Alimi renewed his directives to the Armed Forces to take all necessary measures to protect civilians, secure residential areas, and facilitate the evacuation and relief of displaced families. He affirmed that protecting the lives of citizens will remain at the heart of the state’s responsibilities, in contrast to militias that have no qualms about using civilians as fuel for their reckless adventures.

The Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces called on all political and social forces, platforms of thought and public awareness, the media, and national elites to shoulder their responsibility at this decisive moment in the country’s history. He stressed the need to unite the domestic front, strengthen confidence in the state, its institutions and Armed Forces, and avoid being drawn into campaigns of disinformation and incitement aimed at undermining the morale of Yemenis, on which the militias are relying.
