PLC President Praises Armed Forces’ High Readiness to Deter Houthi Terrorism
Aden
His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, held telephone calls today, Thursday, with PLC Member Lieutenant General Tariq Saleh, member of the Supreme Military Committee Major General Youssef Al-Sharaji, Commander of the Fourth Military Region Major General Hamdi Shukri, and a number of military commanders. His Excellency conducted the calls to receive updates on the field situation and the course of operations on the fronts in Taiz Governorate.
President Al-Alimi was briefed by the PLC member and military commanders on the level of combat readiness and the high morale of the troops, as well as their ability to deal efficiently and responsibly with the Houthi escalation and thwart its criminal objectives and schemes on various fronts.
The President commended the bravery of the Armed Forces and all military formations, as well as their steadfastness and sacrifices on the fields of honor and valor in defense of freedom and human dignity. He prayed for the souls of the righteous martyrs and wished the wounded and injured a speedy recovery.
President Al-Alimi directed that the families of the martyrs be provided with due care and that the wounded and injured receive comprehensive medical treatment and care, while ensuring that their rights and entitlements are honored. He stressed that this is a national duty and a responsibility that allows no negligence.
The PLC President affirmed that the attacks and continued escalation by the Houthi militias would not alter the balance of power and deterrence capabilities built up by the Armed Forces, nor would they provide the militias with any new gains on the ground. He stressed that the Yemeni people and their valiant armed forces are now more determined than ever to defeat the coup, restore state institutions, protect the republican system, and achieve security and stability.
The PLC President also reaffirmed the state’s commitment to responding firmly to the reckless actions of the terrorist militias, stressing that the Armed Forces would not shirk their constitutional duty to protect civilians. He said that the militias, having tested the capabilities and resolve of the Armed Forces in the past period, should not once again misread the state’s patience and its determination to prevent further bloodshed among Yemenis.
The PLC President called on tribal leaders and residents in areas under militia control not to allow their sons to be dragged into the militias’ futile wars or turned into cannon fodder for a project that serves neither Yemen nor the interests of its people. He warned against the militias’ continued recruitment of hundreds of Yemenis and sending them to their deaths in service of the Iranian regime’s agenda and its destructive project in the region.
