PLC President Congratulates High School Graduates, Directs Honoring Top Students and Supporting Teachers

President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), has directed that top-performing high school graduates be honored and outstanding students supported. He also directed that they be given priority in cultural exchange opportunities and local scholarships under a sound scholarship policy that responds to national needs. The policy will focus on specialized and rare fields required for recovery, reconstruction, and development.

The directive came during a phone call the President made with Minister of Education Dr. Adel Al-Abbadi, during which he congratulated students on the announcement of the high school examination results. He commended the efforts of the Ministry of Education, teachers, and educational and administrative personnel in ensuring the continuity and success of the educational process amid the exceptional circumstances facing the country.

The PLC President extended his sincere congratulations to all successful students, wishing them continued excellence in their academic careers. He expressed hope that they would make a valuable contribution to building Yemen’s present and future and to advancing the state-building, development, and peace efforts.

President Al-Alimi directed that students’ appeals concerning the high school examination results be reviewed and that any potential shortcomings in the marking, tabulation, and announcement of results be investigated. He stressed the need to ensure fairness to students, safeguard their rights, and strengthen confidence in the integrity of the examination process and its academic standards.

President Al-Alimi affirmed that teachers will remain the cornerstone of any national advancement process. He directed the government and relevant authorities to give the conditions, rights, and needs of teachers the care and attention they deserve. He also directed the government to improve the educational environment in a way that enhances the stability of the educational process and the quality of its outcomes.

In this context, the PLC President directed that special attention be given to contract teachers and that, within available resources and in accordance with actual needs, they be given priority in opportunities for permanent appointment and in public-sector positions allocated to the education sector. This is in recognition of their role in maintaining the continuity of education and meeting staffing needs in schools over the past years.

President Al-Alimi also directed the Ministry of Education to make thorough preparations for the new academic year and ensure that all requirements are in place for its timely launch and the regular resumption of classes across all governorates. He called for addressing existing shortcomings in a manner that guarantees students’ right to stable and safe education and helps reduce school dropout.
