President Al-Alimi commends Yemeni expatriates for combating the Imamate ideology and alleviating the humanitarian crisis
New York
President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council commended the role of Yemeni migrant community in the United States and all Yemeni expatriates in alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people, advocating for their cause and their legitimate rights to restore state institutions, and ending the coup of the Houthi militia supported by the Iranian regime.
"The remittances of expatriates contribute to feeding millions of people at home, during the collapse of the government protection network and the worsening of the humanitarian crisis, especially in light of the suspension of oil exports a year ago due to Houthi terrorist attacks.", the President said in a meeting in New York with the Yemeni migrant community in the United States.
The President encouraged the members of the Yemeni community to engage in raising awareness, and to dismantle the backward Imamate ideology that wants to return Yemen to the ages of slavery, exclusion and marginalization of the living forces in society.
"This is a purely national battle not against a specific group, instead against the ideology of "divine selection" and "Wilayah" claimed by Houthis and for the state of citizenship and equality that guarantees broad based participation for all Yemenis in rebuilding their homeland," he added.
President Al-Alimi put the members of the community in the picture of developments on the Yemeni arena, and the economic, service and institutional reforms led by the Presidential Council and the government kicked off from the interim capital of Aden.
He also briefed the members of the community on the developments related to the peace process, the good offices of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman, and the hopes pinned on them in pushing the Houthi militia towards yielding to the popular will and giving priority to the interest of Yemenis over the interests of their Iranian leaders and supporters.
The President spoke about the evidence of explicit cooperation between the Houthi militia and terrorist organizations, and the government's steps to share many proofs in this context with the international community and the major powers in the Security Council.
President Al-Alimi heard from the Yemeni community to many ideas, initiatives, inquiries, and critical opinions of the work of the Council and the government, and ways to improve institutional performance, unite the ranks of national forces around the goal of restoring state institutions peacefully or by fighting, and ensure the participation of all Yemenis in creating the future they deserve.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Yahya Al-Shuaib, Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Yemen, Dr. Ahmed bin Mubarak, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Abdullah Al-Saadi, Permanent Representative of Yemen to the United Nations and Mohammed Al-Hadrami, Ambassador of Yemen to the United States.
