His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, held a meeting today, Saturday, with the Supreme Security Committee, in the presence of Prime Minister Salem Saleh bin Breik. The meeting followed up on His Excellency’s directives in light of the decisions made during the previous session and reviewed security performance reports across various governorates.

The meeting included Lieutenant General Mohsen Al-Daari, the Minister of Defense, the Chairman of the Supreme Security Committee, Major General Ibrahim Haidan, Minister of Interior, the Governors of Aden (Minister of State Ahmed Lamlas) and Taiz (Nabil Shamsan), along with other members of the Supreme Security Committee. Attendees also included Major General Ahmed Al-Yafei, Head of Military Intelligence and Reconnaissance Authority, Major General Shalal Ali Shaye, Head of the Counter-Terrorism Unit, Major General Mohammed Aida, Director of the National Security Agency, Major General Nour Al-Din Al-Yami, Deputy Director of the National Security Agency, and Major General Abdulhakim Shaif, the Committee’s Rapporteur.

The meeting was dedicated to reviewing security and military performance reports, as well as efforts to enhance security and stability in the interim capital Aden, and several governorates. Discussions also covered achievements in counterterrorism operations, including the dismantling of multiple cells linked to the Houthi militia and allied terrorist organizations, along with thwarting their sabotage plots.

The Supreme Security Committee reiterated its high appreciation for the efforts of the joint security and military campaign in Taiz Governorate, which culminated in dismantling one of the most dangerous terrorist cells linked to the Houthi militia, al-Qaeda, and ISIS. This cell had been involved in carrying out sabotage operations and assassinations across several governorates.

The Committee commended the sustained intelligence monitoring and surveillance efforts conducted under the direct supervision of the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. These efforts successfully uncovered a terrorist network operated by the so-called Amjad Khaled, former commander of the Transport Brigade, whose direct ties to Houthi militia leaders have been confirmed—most notably Mohammed Abdulkarim Al-Ghamari and Abdulqadir Al-Shami, principal architects of terrorist and sabotage operations in liberated governorates. The network facilitated coordination between the Houthi militia and terrorist organizations, including cross-border operations.

The confessions of the detained suspects confirmed the network's involvement in committing several heinous terrorist crimes, including the assassination of World Food Programme director in Al-Turbah city, Moayad Hamidi. This criminal act was intended by the Houthi militia to undermine government efforts to strengthen international organizations' confidence and disrupt measures taken to secure their humanitarian operations in liberated governorates.

Committee reports confirmed the arrest of several individuals involved in the assassination of the World Food Programme (WFP) staff member, including the principal perpetrators of the killing, along with dozens of others implicated in various assassinations and bombings.

The Committee noted that investigations had confirmed the involvement of terrorist cells in the October 2021 convoy bombing targeting Aden Governor Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, which resulted in the death of several of his escorts. The findings also revealed their responsibility for multiple assassinations, kidnappings, and enforced disappearances targeting investigators, unit commanders, religious and community figures, as well as attempted assassinations of military and security leaders in Aden, Lahj, Taiz, and Al-Bayda governorates.

The operation uncovered explosives manufacturing facilities and vehicle bomb workshops, while seizing various improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and mines in residential properties serving as the terrorist cell's hideout in Al-Shamaytain District. Evidence revealed their use of visual documentation for assassinations and executions, coordination with the Houthi enemy, and provision of sensitive security coordinates—all part of a broader scheme to destabilize cities and governorates from within.

The Higher Security Committee praised the role of the Governor of Taiz, the Commander of the Al-Turbah Axis and the Fourth Mountain Infantry Brigade, the Director of the Al-Shamayatayn district, and all relevant agencies for their exemplary role in the successful execution of the joint security-military operation.

The Committee also praised the civic awareness of local citizens who played a vital role in supporting the operation, embodying the patriotic spirit of Taiz's free people. These citizens have consistently proven to be the safeguard of the state and its republican system.

The Supreme Security Committee warned against the grave dangers of engaging with, harboring, or showing leniency toward terrorist elements under any pretext. It stressed the imperative to strengthen national cohesiveness, protect the domestic front with the highest levels of vigilance, and maintain full readiness to counter the Houthi scheme aimed at plunging the country into further devastation and chaos—a scheme supported by the Iranian regime.

The Committee affirmed the government's operational readiness to counter terrorist threats, protect civil order, bring fugitives to justice, end the Houthi militias' criminal practices against Yemenis, and defeat their racist agenda.

During the meeting, the Committee adopted several resolutions to pursue and apprehend individuals with outstanding security warrants, coordinate with brotherly and friendly countries and INTERPOL to facilitate their extradition, and ensure their domestic prosecution to deliver appropriate justice. The Committee further instructed authorities to build upon the findings of these reports and implement stricter measures in dealing with sleeper cells and suspicious elements across all governorates.

The Committee reaffirmed its support for the General Administration for Drug Control and emphasized enhancing the role of educational, cultural, media, and advisory platforms to protect future generations from deviant terrorist ideologies and to expose the subversive schemes of the Houthi militia and their allied terrorist organizations that threaten Yemeni national interests, erode the country's Arab identity, and jeopardize its national security.

The meeting was attended by Major General Saleh Al-Maqaleh, Director of the Presidential Office.
