His Excellency President Rashad Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, expressed profound gratitude and appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its leadership, government, and people, for a new fuel grant designated to operate power stations in Yemen.

He conveyed his appreciation on behalf of himself, fellow council members, the government, and the Yemeni people.

President Al-Alimi said the grant would help alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people amid the ongoing crisis caused by the Houthi militias.

In a post on his account on the X platform, Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi said the generous support once again reflects the honorable stance of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia toward Yemen.

He noted that the Kingdom, under the leadership of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, continues to stand by Yemen, its people, and its political leadership.

President Al-Alimi added that the support also demonstrates Saudi Arabia’s strong commitment to backing Yemen’s aspirations for security, stability, peace, and development.

In an expanded statement to the Saba News Agency, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council praised the efforts of the Saudi team overseeing the Yemeni file, headed by Prince Khalid bin Salman Al Saud.

He also commended the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY), supervised by Ambassador Mohammed Saeed Al Jaber, for its role in securing the new support package announced ahead of Eid al-Adha.

President Al-Alimi said the support aims to strengthen the state’s ability to meet its public service obligations toward citizens.

Earlier today, Wednesday, Saudi Arabia announced an urgent fuel support package worth $150 million for the Yemeni government through the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY). The grant will cover diesel and mazut supplies required to operate electricity stations through the end of 2026.

The support comes as part of the Kingdom’s longstanding approach to assisting the Yemeni people and easing humanitarian suffering. It also contributes to the stability of electricity services and supports commercial and service-related activities across the country. The initiative further reinforces the foundations of development and stability in Yemen.
