President Al-Alimi’s Eid al-Adha 1447 AH Address to the Yemeni People

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, who says in His Holy Book: “And proclaim to the people the Hajj; they will come to you on foot and on every lean camel, coming from every distant pass.” Peace and blessings be upon Prophet Muhammad, the truthful and trustworthy.

My fellow Yemeni citizens at home and abroad,

Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.

It gives me, along with my brothers in the Presidential Leadership Council and the government, great pleasure to extend to you our heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, praying to Almighty Allah to return this blessed occasion upon our people while Yemen enjoys security, stability, peace, justice, and prosperity worthy of the immense sacrifices and enduring patience of its people.

We also extend our sincere congratulations to our brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by my brother the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, on the great success of the Hajj season and the tremendous efforts exerted in serving the Guests of Allah and ensuring the safe and peaceful performance of the rituals. These efforts have always earned the appreciation of the entire Islamic nation.

I also extend my greetings and gratitude to the heroes of our armed and security forces stationed on the frontlines of honor and heroism in defense of the republican system, the security and stability of citizens, the protection of national gains, and the deterrence of destructive and terrorist projects. They continue to present the finest examples of sacrifice and steadfastness, fully aware that protecting the people, safeguarding the state, and defending human dignity are among the noblest religious, national, and moral duties.

Nor do we forget, on this blessed occasion, the doctors, nurses, and all public service personnel on duty during the Eid holidays, who continue to perform their humanitarian and national responsibilities with sincerity, patience, and dedication to ease the suffering of citizens and maintain essential services. They embody the values of solidarity, compassion, and public service encouraged by our true Islamic faith.

Fellow Citizens,

This blessed Eid comes while our people continue to endure immense challenges caused by the war ignited by the Houthi terrorist militias backed by the Iranian regime. The war has resulted in severe economic, humanitarian, and service crises that have burdened citizens across our beloved homeland.

Aware of the scale of this suffering, we reaffirm that our enduring priority will remain serving the people, improving their living conditions, and strengthening the presence of the state and its institutions. We believe this is the practical path toward building trust, preserving public stability, and consolidating national strength. It is also essential for restoring state institutions, ending the coup, and achieving a just and comprehensive peace in accordance with nationally, regionally, and internationally agreed references.

In this regard, we firmly believe that serving citizens, alleviating their suffering, and preserving their dignity are not merely political or administrative responsibilities. Rather, they are a great trust and a religious, moral, and national duty. This duty requires sincere and selfless work for the good of the people, the establishment of justice, the protection of rights, and the preservation of the dignity of every Yemeni citizen.

Accordingly, the state leadership and government will continue moving forward with economic, service, and institutional reforms. Foremost among these efforts is pursuing radical solutions to the chronic electricity crisis and ensuring the regular payment of public sector salaries. The government will also work to strengthen the stability of the national currency, combat terrorism, corruption, smuggling, and organized crime, improve public revenues, and direct them responsibly to alleviate citizens’ suffering. This battle is no less important than any other struggle undertaken by our great people in defense of their future, national identity, and legitimate right to a dignified and secure life.

Fellow citizens,

The battle to restore state institutions and end the coup of the Houthi terrorist militias backed by the Iranian regime will remain our central battle and our foremost national cause.

This group must learn the lesson, cease exhausting the nation’s resources, and submit to the will of the people, who will never accept the return of the theocratic Imamate project or any attempt to reverse the course of history.

From this standpoint, the Yemeni state reaffirms its unwavering commitment to combating all forms of racial and sectarian discrimination and criminalizing doctrines of divine entitlement and hereditary superiority. As they have no relation to the true teachings of Islam and contradict the constitution and the human values upon which our national state was founded.

Our battle against these dark ideologies is not merely political. It is also a defense of the true essence of Islam, which is founded upon justice, equality, and human dignity. It rejects arrogance, discrimination, clerical domination, and every attempt to monopolize divine authority or confiscate people’s freedoms in the name of religion, lineage, or force.

Allah Almighty says: “O mankind, We created you from a male and a female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous among you.”

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) also said: “Your Lord is One and your father is one. There is no superiority of an Arab over a non-Arab, nor of a non-Arab over an Arab, nor of a white over a black, nor of a black over a white, except through piety.”

Today, more than ever, we are required to unify all national energies, capabilities, and resources and direct them toward the battle to restore state institutions and deter the destructive Iranian project. As this remains the necessary condition for any just peace, lasting stability, and secure future for Yemen’s men, women, and children.

All Yemenis should take pride in this legendary resilience, which extends from the sacrifices of the first republican generation to the heroism of today’s armed forces, security personnel, and popular resistance. They continue confronting the new Imamate project and defending the state. They also uphold the state’s exclusive right to bear arms and determine war and peace, while safeguarding public freedoms and human dignity.

Great Yemeni people,

The values embodied by Eid al-Adha — faith, sacrifice, and the strengthening of family ties — call upon us all to reject division and discord. They urge us to promote brotherhood and tolerance and to unify the national ranks. They also remind us to rise above wounds and grievances and remember the shared history, identity, struggles, and destiny that unite Yemenis.

Nations are not built on hatred, nor protected by fanaticism and narrow agendas. Rather, they are preserved through justice, compassion, solidarity, and genuine faith in people’s right to security, dignity, and peace.

On this occasion, we also congratulate the Yemeni pilgrims performing Hajj, praying that Almighty Allah accepts their pilgrimage and grants them a safe return to their families. We also express our appreciation to the leadership, government, and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the facilities provided to the Yemeni Hajj mission and for their tremendous efforts in serving pilgrims from across the world.

In conclusion, we pray for mercy upon our righteous martyrs, recovery for our wounded heroes, and freedom for detainees and abductees. We also pray that this Eid may be a season of goodness, mercy, and peace for our people and the Arab and Islamic nations.

May Allah protect Yemen and its people, unite hearts, strengthen solidarity, relieve our people’s suffering, and grant them a future worthy of the sacrifices of their people.

Eid Mubarak, and may you be well every year.

Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.
