President Al-Alimi Calls for National Cohesion and Mobilizing All Efforts Toward Restoring State Institutions

His Excellency President Rashad Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, renewed in an address to the Yemeni people on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha his call on all Yemenis to reject division and discord, uphold the spirit of brotherhood and tolerance. He called on them to unify the national ranks, rise above wounds and grievances, and recall the shared history and national struggles that unite the Yemeni people.

The President said that nations are not built on hatred, nor safeguarded by fanaticism and narrow agendas, but rather by justice, compassion, solidarity, and sincere faith in people’s right to security, dignity, and peace.

In the address, delivered on his behalf by Minister of Endowments and Guidance Sheikh Turki Al-Wadie, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council extended congratulations, on behalf of himself, the Council members, and the government, to all Yemeni people and to the heroes of the armed and security forces on the occasion of the blessed religious holiday. He prayed that Almighty God would return the occasion upon Yemen with security, stability, peace, justice, and prosperity befitting the great sacrifices and long endurance of its people.

President Al-Alimi stated that the blessed occasion comes at a time when the Yemeni people continue to face immense challenges caused by the war ignited by the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias, and the resulting economic, humanitarian, and service crises that have burdened citizens across the country.

He affirmed that the priority of the Council and the government will remain focused on serving the people, improving living conditions, and strengthening the presence of state institutions. He described these efforts as the practical path toward building confidence, preserving public tranquility, and consolidating the national capabilities needed to restore state institutions and end the coup. He added that these measures are also essential to achieving a just and comprehensive peace in accordance with nationally, regionally, and internationally agreed references.

The President stressed that serving citizens, alleviating their suffering, and safeguarding their dignity constitute a great trust and a religious, moral, and national duty that requires sincere and selfless efforts aimed at achieving justice, protecting rights, and preserving the dignity of every Yemeni citizen.

In this context, President Al-Alimi pledged that the state would continue pursuing economic, service, and institutional reforms. These efforts include addressing the chronic electricity crisis, ensuring the regular payment of public sector salaries, stabilizing the national currency, combating terrorism, corruption, smuggling, and organized crime, and improving public revenues and their efficient use to ease the suffering of citizens. He described these efforts as a battle no less important than any other struggle undertaken by the Yemeni people in defense of their future, national identity, and legitimate right to a dignified and secure life.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council reaffirmed that the battle to restore state institutions and end the coup by the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias “will remain our central battle and our unifying cause that takes precedence over all other issues and obligations.”

He added: “this group must learn the lesson, cease exhausting the country’s resources, and submit to the popular will that will never accept, under any circumstances, the return of the theocratic Imamate project or any attempt to reverse the course of history”.

President Al-Alimi also renewed the Yemeni state’s firm commitment to continuing the struggle against all forms of racial and sectarian discrimination and to criminalizing the ideas of divine guardianship and hereditary entitlement to rule. He described them as concepts unrelated to Islam and contrary to the constitution and the human values upon which the Yemeni national state was founded.

He explained that the battle against such dark ideologies is not merely a political struggle, but also a defense of the true essence of Islam founded on justice, equality, and human dignity. He said these principles reject supremacy, discrimination, and clerical rule. He also condemned all attempts to monopolize divine authority or suppress people’s freedoms and will in the name of religion, lineage, or force.

The President urged all Yemenis to unite all national energies, capabilities, and resources and direct them toward the battle to restore state institutions and confront the destructive Iranian project. He considered this the essential condition for achieving a just peace, lasting stability, and a secure future for Yemen’s men, women, and children.
