President of the Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, called on the Yemeni people to seize the opportunity presented by the new transformations unfolding in the country. He called on them to side with wisdom, prioritize the imperatives of the future, and work toward building a state that accommodates all, safeguards rights, preserves dignity, and opens the doors of hope for successive generations.

In a speech marking the advent of the holy month of Ramadan, the President, on his own behalf and that of his fellow Council members, extended his congratulations to the Yemeni people, praying that the month brings goodness, blessings, security, and stability to the nation. He prayed that Ramadan returns with the aspirations of the people fulfilled through the restoration of state institutions, the end of the coup and the suffering, and the building of a future worthy of their sacrifices and steadfastness.

In the address, delivered on his behalf by Minister of Endowments and Guidance Sheikh Turki Al-Wadi’i, the President said that the battle today is not only against an armed coup project, but against everything that threatens the very idea of the state. “It is a battle against chaos, unregulated weapons, corruption, and the depletion of resources outside national institutions.”

President Al-Alimi expressed confidence that the new government headed by Dr. Shaia’a Al-Zindani would rise to the level of the challenges and responsibilities, and would embark on practical steps to enhance the authority of the state, regulate public resources. It would also empower the Central Bank to manage monetary policy, protect the national currency, ensure the regular payment of salaries, improve services, and alleviate the suffering of citizens to the greatest extent possible.

He acknowledged that “the path of reforms is long and arduous, but stressed that it is unavoidable, as economic and service stability constitute an integral part of the battle to restore state institutions and a top priority.”

The President reviewed key developments witnessed in recent weeks, including improved regularity in the functioning of state institutions and basic services, tangible progress in reclaiming sovereign decision-making, and the formation of a new government carrying a message of change at all levels.

He underscored “the pivotal role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, and Minister of Defense Khalid bin Salman Al Saud.” He described the renewed course of fraternal support as affirmation that the Yemeni-Saudi partnership is neither optional nor temporary, but rather a benevolent destiny shaped by geography, security, and shared fate.

He noted that this partnership, which proved in the most difficult moments to be a pillar of support for the Yemeni state, now represents a genuine historic opportunity to transition toward reconstruction, development, and prosperity.

He added: “Therefore, we call on all to seize this opportunity with awareness, and to safeguard it from narrow considerations and from voices that see in the future nothing but an extension of destructive cross-border projects.”

The President renewed the state leadership’s full belief in the justice of the Southern cause as a foundation for a comprehensive solution. He stressed the necessity of recognizing and addressing it fairly, and guaranteeing people’s right to freely and responsibly determine their future under normal and secure conditions within the framework of the rule of law and state sovereignty.

He affirmed that this commitment is not a political maneuver, “but a moral and constitutional principle essential to safeguarding the nation from recurring cycles of violence.”

He further expressed confidence that the Southern dialogue, to be sponsored by Saudi Arabia, would mark a turning point through sincere and responsible consultations that include all components. It would also establish genuine partnership without victor or vanquished, prioritize public interest over narrow considerations, and restore the authority of the state over the logic of arms.

On the occasion of Ramadan, President Al-Alimi conveyed a message of solidarity and support to citizens in areas under the control of the Houthi terrorist militias, affirming that the state will not abandon its people in any part of the homeland. He stressed that restoring Sana’a and achieving a greater and just Yemen will remain a unifying national goal and collective project, regardless of how long the suffering endures.

The President expressed hope that this year’s Ramadan would mark the beginning of a breakthrough toward victory and peace, fulfilling the broad aspirations of the Yemeni people. He called for refining public discourse, rejecting incitement, respecting differences, prioritizing the public interest over narrow loyalties, and focusing on the overarching national battle.

He urged philanthropists, business leaders, and the private sector to intensify their efforts during the holy month in support of affected families and to alleviate hardship among the poor, noting that nations built on solidarity cannot be defeated.

Finally, the President directed the competent authorities to order the immediate release of inmates who have served three-quarters or half of their sentences, excluding those convicted of terrorism, smuggling, and drug-related crimes. He also instructed that detainees held in private rights cases be considered for release on commercial bail, and that governorates committees comprising public prosecutors, local authorities, and chambers of commerce be formed to assist insolvent detainees and expedite the closure of unlawful prisons without delay.
