President Al-Alimi Highlights Importance of Gulf Momentum in Building State Institutions and Ending the Coup

His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, received today at his residence in Munich, Germany, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Dr. Abdul Latif Al-Zayani, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.

During the meeting, the Bahraini Foreign Minister conveyed the greetings of his brother, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. They wished the President and members of the Presidential Leadership Council continued health and happiness, and the Yemeni people security, stability, and peace.

In turn, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council asked the minister to convey his greetings to the Bahraini leadership, wishing them well-being, and the Bahraini people progress and prosperity.

The meeting also addressed the distinguished relations between the two brotherly countries and ways to enhance and develop them across various fields, in addition to exchanging views and coordinating positions on issues of mutual concern.

President Al-Alimi expressed his deep appreciation for the Kingdom of Bahrain’s steadfast stances alongside the Republic of Yemen and its constitutional legitimacy in various regional and international forums. He commended Bahrain’s commitment to the principles of respecting state sovereignty and territorial integrity, and its clear stance against coups and destabilizing projects in the region.

The President also discussed recent developments in Yemen, particularly the formation of a government of political competencies as part of a reform path. This path aims to enhance the efficiency of state institutions, improve monetary and service stability, foster a better business environment, and unify the national front to confront the Houthi project backed by the Iranian regime.

His Excellency highlighted the tangible improvements in public services and security, achieved with generous and decisive support from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which played a pivotal role in attaining these gains. He noted that this momentum opens an important political and strategic window for the continuation of restoring state institutions and ending the coup.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Yahya Al-Shuaibi, the Director of the Presidency Office, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Mikhlafi, the Economic Advisor to the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, Mr. Louai Al-Eryani, the Yemeni Ambassador to Berlin, and Mr. Ahmed Al-Saleh, Minister of State. 

Representing the Bahraini side were Mr. Hamad Al-Manaei, the Political Affairs Advisor to the Foreign Minister, and Mr. Ahmed Ibrahim, the Bahraini Ambassador to Berlin.
