President Al-Alimi Assigns Governor Salem Al-Khunbashi to Assume General Command of Homeland Shield Forces in Hadhramout

Today, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces issued Presidential Decree No. (1) of 2026.
Article One of the decree stipulates the assignment of Mr. Salem Ahmed Saeed Al-Khunbashi, Governor of Hadhramout Governorate, the Chairman of the Governorate’s Security Committee, to assume the general command of the Homeland Shield Forces in Hadhramout Governorate. The decree grants Al-Khunbashi, full military, security, and administrative authorities, with the aim of restoring security and order in the governorate.
Article Two states that this assignment shall expire upon the cessation of the reasons that necessitated it, or upon the issuance of a decree by the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, revoking this assignment.
Article Three, the final article of the decree, provides that it shall enter into force from the date of its issuance and shall be published in the Official Gazette and military bulletins.
