Governor of Al-Jawf Takes Constitutional Oath Before PLC President

Major General Ameen Ali Al-Akimi took the constitutional oath before His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), today, Sunday, following his appointment as Governor of Al-Jawf Governorate and Commander of the Al-Jawf Military Axis.

Following the oath-taking ceremony, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council met with the newly appointed Governor of Al-Jawf. His Excellency congratulated the new Governor on the confidence placed in him to assume responsibility for leading the local authority at this important juncture in the country’s history.

His Excellency commended the pivotal role played by Al-Jawf Governorate and its significant national and strategic importance in the efforts to restore state institutions. He stressed that the positions taken by its people and their immense sacrifices in defending the republican system deserve every form of recognition, care, and fairness.

The President also paid tribute to the heroism of the armed forces, all military formations, and the popular resistance in the governorate, as well as the significant progress and gains they have achieved on all fronts.

He stressed that the state and the local authority in Al-Jawf must work to consolidate these battlefield gains and build on them to complete the recovery of the remaining parts of the governorate and alleviate the suffering of its people. He also underscored the need to ensure the strict protection of civilians and safeguard public and private property.

Addressing the newly appointed governor, the PLC President said that the Governor’s responsibilities also included unifying the efforts of the local authority and the various community groups. Furthermore, it included strengthening coordination with military and security leaders, and overcoming any disputes or differences that could undermine national unity.

He affirmed that Dawn of Yemen Operation was launched to fulfill the aspirations of all Yemenis, enable displaced people to return to their homes, restore their lands and properties, and put an end to fear, extortion and forced recruitment.

The PLC President called on the people of Al-Jawf Governorate not to send their sons into the senseless death traps orchestrated by the Houthi militias. He stressed that the door remains open for a safe return for anyone who lays down their arms and ceases fighting alongside the terrorist militias, in accordance with the announced procedures.

His Excellency directed the leadership of the local authority in Al-Jawf to submit an action plan with clearly defined priorities and ensure regular follow-up on needs, results, and obstacles. He noted that reclaiming territory would remain incomplete without restoring security, basic services, and the trust of Al-Jawf’s loyal people.
