President Commends Shura Council and Political Components’ Commitment to Transitional References

His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, met today, Sunday, with Dr. Ahmed Obaid bin Dagher, Speaker of the Shura Council, Chairman of the National Coalition of Political Parties and Components.

The meeting discussed developments in the domestic situation, foremost among them the recent developments in the eastern governorates and their repercussions on the political, economic, and service conditions.

During the meeting, President Al-Alimi renewed his high appreciation for the good offices of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, aimed at de-escalation and restoring normalcy in the governorates of Hadhramaut and Al-Mahra.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council reviewed the outcomes of presidential communications calling for the withdrawal of forces that arrived from outside the eastern governorates.

He also stressed the need to contain the repercussions of the escalation on the country’s political and economic situation.

President Al-Alimi praised the stances of the Shura Council and the National Coalition of political parties and components, which affirmed their categorical rejection of any unilateral measures that weaken state institutions or undermine the existing partnership among national forces opposing the terrorist Houthi militia project backed by the Iranian regime.

His Excellency underscored the role of the Shura Council and all state institutions in safeguarding existing consensuses, building confidence among national components, and supporting the efforts of the Presidential Leadership Council to fulfill current obligations and strengthen the legal status of the state.

President Al-Alimi reiterated the state’s firm position on the Southern Cause, considering it a just national issue and an integral part of a comprehensive solution within any forthcoming political settlement.
