President al-Alimi honors inspirational initiatives, artists in al-Mahra
Al-Ghaydah:
His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, honored today, Sunday, a number of inspirational initiatives, pioneering artists and activists in al-Mahra governorate in recognition of their talents, creative enterprises and roles. The honoring ceremony took place in the presence of the Deputy Chairman of the Shura Council, Dr. Abdullah Belghaith, Engineer Wahe Aman, and the Governor of Al-Mahra Governorate, Mohammed Ali Yaser.
His Excellency honored the team of al-Mahra University of the artificial intelligences who won the first prize in the Arab Olympic Artificial Intelligence competition and several leading intellects. Among the honored, the disabled foot artist, Fatima Sanoun, and the octogenarian artist and founder of Mahri song, Askari Hajiran.
His Excellency the President also honored a self-initiative by citizen Saeed Al Jadhi to combat the threat of Sesbania trees to agricultural holdings in Al Mahrah Governorate, as well as the activist and Mahri heritage and culture enthusiast, Noor Abdulaziz Maki.
The list of honorees also included Sheikh Saad Muslim, who transformed his house in Qishn district into a museum for Mahri heritage since 1982, and activist Fatima Salem, who is dedicated to documenting Mahri stories and promoting female literacy.
Additionally, the talented photographer and visual artist Abdullah Hazmeem, who is interested in showcasing wildlife and Mahri civilization, was honored.

The Presidential Leadership Council held a meeting today, Thursday, chaired by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, President of the Council.
