His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, met today, Saturday, in the interim capital Aden, with Mr. Mohammed Al-Ghaithi, the Chairman of the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission, and his deputies Mr. Abdulmalik Al-Mikhlafi, Mr. Sakhr Al-Wajih, Ms. Jameela Ali Raja, and Mr. Akram Al-Amiri.

The meeting discussed recent national developments and the continued efforts to strengthen cohesiveness, consolidate principles of partnership and national consensus, in line with the references guiding the transitional phase.

The discussions addressed regional developments and their potential impact on Yemen, highlighting the importance of using these shifts to further isolate the terrorist militias. They also stressed unifying the vision and goals of all national forces to restore state institutions and reaffirm Yemen’s belonging to its Gulf and Arab environment.

President Al-Alimi praised the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission for its role in bridging differences and strengthening national unity. He commended its support for the Presidential Leadership Council and the government in advancing economic and administrative reforms. The President also commended the Commission’s support for the Presidential Council to mobilize resources to address the country’s complex challenges.

His Excellency commended the progress made by the government and the Central Bank in monetary and fiscal reforms. He expressed appreciation for the support of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in strengthening this progress, maintaining the cohesion of state institutions, and restoring donor confidence to help improve living conditions and alleviate the humanitarian crisis caused by the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militia.

The President emphasized the need for responsible public discourse, active diplomacy, and effective media engagement. These efforts, he said, are essential to counter misleading narratives and expose the militias’ violations, terrorist nature, and links to the Iranian regime. He also highlighted the importance of strengthening international confidence in Yemen’s state institutions as trusted partners in achieving security, stability, and countering common threats.

President Al-Alimi reaffirmed the Council’s and the government’s commitment to taking all necessary measures to strengthen internal unity, consolidate the republican front, and address differences within the framework of state institutions and the rule of law. He called for maintaining focus on the priorities of the transitional phase—foremost among them the restoration of state institutions and the alleviation of public suffering.

President Al-Alimi warned the Houthi terrorist militia against continuing its grave human rights violations, including the arbitrary detention of UN and humanitarian organization staff. He noted that such actions worsen the living conditions of the Yemeni people and disrupt life-saving food supplies. The President held the international community fully responsible for the continuation of these violations and for allowing the perpetrators to escape accountability.

The President urged the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission to intensify its efforts in the coming period, activate its field mechanisms, and engage effectively with state authorities and institutions to support the work of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government at all levels.

The President was briefed by the Commission’s leadership on its recent activities, achievements in promoting dialogue and consensus, and efforts to strengthen communication with political and social components in support of comprehensive reforms and broader national participation.

The Commission’s leadership reaffirmed its full support for the Presidential Leadership Council and the government in carrying out their constitutional duties. It also backed the measures aimed at strengthening national cohesiveness, reinforcing state authority, and upholding Yemen’s legal and institutional standing at home and abroad.

The Commission emphasized the importance of maintaining constructive meetings and consultations between state leadership and various national components to address ongoing political, economic, and security challenges. It stressed that these efforts are vital to putting the country on a path toward recovery, stability, development, and lasting peace.

The meeting was attended by Major General Saleh Al-Maqaleh, the Director of the Presidential Office.
