The Presidential Leadership Council held an extraordinary meeting today, Friday, chaired by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Council. The meeting was attended by Council members: Aidrous Al-Zubaidi, Sultan Al-Arada, Tariq Saleh, Abdulrahman Al-Mahrami, and Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, and via video conference, Council members Othman Mujali and Faraj Al-Buhsani.

At the outset of the meeting, the Presidential Leadership Council extended its sincere congratulations and blessings to the Yemeni people at home and abroad on the occasion of the 62nd anniversary of the glorious October 14 Revolution. The Council affirmed its commitment to the values and heroes of October and their sacrifices for freedom, justice, and human dignity. It also affirmed to work closely with various national forces to restore state institutions and consolidate the principles of the republican system and equal citizenship.

The Council discussed the latest developments in the local situation at various levels, foremost among which were economic and security developments and the course of comprehensive reforms, praising in this context the measures taken by the government and the Central Bank to achieve monetary and financial stability. The Council also praised the efforts made to ensure the regular payment of salaries to state administrative employees and improve the level of public services, as part of the national recovery plan, which has led to strengthening the confidence of the donor community in the government and its institutions, including the announcement by the International Monetary Fund that it will resume its activities in Yemen after an 11-year hiatus.

The Council affirmed its support for the government's efforts to continue the reform program. It affirmed to enable the government to exercise its full constitutional and legal powers in a manner that enhances its ability to access all resources and improve the living conditions of citizens.

The Presidential Leadership Council also affirmed its commitment to the principles of partnership and national consensus in light of the terms of reference for the transitional phase. Foremost among these are the Declaration of the Transfer of Power and the rules governing the work of the Council. The Council emphasized that these principles aim to ensure cohesiveness, strengthen the state’s legal standing, and mobilize all efforts to overthrow the coup by the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militias.

The Presidential Leadership Council renewed its deep gratitude and appreciation to its brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates for their sincere fraternal positions and continued support for economic and financial reforms. The Council also praised their backing for the implementation of recovery and development programs. It noted in particular the recent Saudi support for the general budget, which reflects the Kingdom’s leadership’s commitment to promoting economic stability and alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people.

At the regional level, the Presidential Leadership Council welcomed the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, brokered by U.S. President Donald Trump. The Council commended the efforts of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Qatar, and other brotherly and friendly countries in reaching this historic accord. It expressed hope that this achievement will mark an important step toward ending the humanitarian suffering of the Palestinian people and launching a just and lasting peace process that ensures the establishment of an independent and fully sovereign Palestinian state.

The Council reviewed these developments and their potential implications for the local situation. It adopted a number of necessary measures and actions in response. These included close coordination with regional and international partners to promote opportunities for peace and stability in Yemen and the region, and to address common challenges and threats at all levels.
