His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, together with Council member Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, on Thursday inaugurated in New York the Yemeni Exhibition for Books, Fine Arts, and Photography. The Exhibition was held under the theme “Colors of Yemen Light Up New York.” The event takes place on the sidelines of the President’s participation in the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

His Excellency toured the exhibition halls, reviewing the creative works, books, and diverse publications that reflect the authentic and promising cultural identity of Yemen and its people.

In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) and other media outlets, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council praised the organizers of the event, which coincides with the Yemeni people's celebrations of the anniversaries of the September 26 and October 14 Revolutions. He emphasized the profound significance of these anniversaries, noting that the spirit of the revolution was not solely political, but also cultural and civilizational, aimed at building a free and enlightened Yemeni society.

His Excellency added, "The paintings of our artists and the pens of our writers here in New York confirm that Yemen, despite the wounds of war, remains a land pulsating with creativity. It is a nation capable of sending messages of peace and hope to the world, and of proving that culture and art are the most powerful weapons to counter the forces of violence and darkness."

He continued, "This exhibition, through the diversity of artistic schools it presents—from Sana'a, Aden, Taiz, Hadhramaut, Sa'ada, Ibb, Al-Mahra, Socotra, and other governorates—reflects the cultural and artistic unity of the Yemeni people, despite the attempts by the terrorist Houthi militia to tear apart the national fabric."

President Al-Alimi called on the Yemeni community in the United States to unite their ranks. He urged them to dedicate their capacities in service of their compatriots and their aspirations to restore state institutions and end the coup of the Iran-backed Houthi militias.

He affirmed that the unity of Yemeni communities abroad constitutes an extension of the unified national front at home. It serves  as a hallmark of active popular diplomacy and a source of strength for Yemen’s presence in regional and international forums.

The event is organized by the "Anawin Books" publishing house as an exceptional cultural and artistic celebration. It is held concurrently with the 63rd anniversary of the September 26 Revolution and the 62nd anniversary of the glorious October 14 Revolution.

The event aims to maintain international focus on the Yemeni issue, highlight the nation's rich intellectual, literary, and artistic creativity, and connect the Yemeni diaspora with its ancient cultural heritage.

The exhibition will run until 30 September, presenting an integrated program of intellectual and literary seminars, book-signing sessions, and art displays under the theme “Colors of Yemen Light Up New York.” It features the participation of 46 artists from across Yemen’s governorates.
