Speech by His Excellency President Al-Alimi to Yemeni people on Eid Al-Adha

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all worlds, who said in His Holy Book:

“And for every nation We have appointed a rite [of sacrifice] so that they may mention the name of Allah over what He has provided them of [sacrificial] animals. For your god is one God, so to Him submit. And give good tidings to the humble.”

Peace and blessings be upon the trustworthy Messenger of Allah, and his companions until the Day of Judgment.

To our great Yemeni people, at home and abroad,

Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.

It brings me and my fellow members of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government great joy to extend to you our heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha. We ask the Almighty Allah to return this blessed occasion upon our people and homeland, having achieved our hopes for security, peace, and stability. May the days ahead be better than those that have passed. May our struggle and sacrifices be culminated with a resounding victory — the restoration of our state and the reestablishment of our national institution.

On this noble occasion, I also extend warmest congratulations and blessings to my brother, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to his Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, on the successful ceremony of this year’s Hajj. We highly appreciate the tremendous efforts made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in serving the pilgrims, ensuring their comfort and safety, and enabling them to perform the rituals with ease and tranquility.

These efforts are widely recognized and appreciated, both in the Islamic world and globally, reflecting the Kingdom’s leadership and its distinguished status in the service of Islam and Muslims.

Likewise, my fellow members of the Presidential Leadership Council and I are pleased to congratulate the pilgrims from Yemen and all Muslims, asking Allah to accept their pilgrimage and devotion, and to return them safely and successfully to their homes.

Dear Yemeni people,

This blessed Eid comes while the terrorist Houthi militia continues its destructive and sectarian project, beholden to the Iranian regime, rejecting all peace efforts, and persisting in its violations of lives and dignity.

The areas under the control of this group have become arenas of repression and terror. In these regions, the most heinous violations are committed against our people — including abduction, murder, torture, and extortion. The militia imposes illegal levies, loots public and private property, and recruits children, sending them to die on the frontlines. All of this is done in flagrant disregard for religious and humanitarian values.

You have all seen how this militia’s reckless gamble with the interests and gains of the Yemeni people has led to the Israeli aggression targeting three ports, three factories, an airport, and four aircraft — without the group showing the slightest concern. It continues its reckless adventurism, dragging our country into further destruction and ruin.

In contrast to this terrorism and extortion, you have seen how the legitimate state has consistently chosen to stand with the people, prioritizing the lives and interests of civilians over false displays of sovereignty.

We, in the Presidential Leadership Council and the legitimate government, in partnership with national forces and political components, are steadfast in working to establish security, deliver public services, improve living conditions, pay salaries, and restore a just state based on inclusive governance and equal citizenship for all.

Ladies and gentlemen, fellow citizens,

On this occasion, we reaffirm our unwavering support for the cause of our Arab Palestinian brothers, their right to liberate their land, determine their destiny, and establish their fully sovereign, independent state.

We strongly condemn the ongoing genocide perpetrated by the brutal Israeli occupation against our people in the Gaza Strip. This constitutes a shameful stain on the conscience of humanity and demands a firm international stance to end the aggression and protect innocent civilians.

In conclusion, we renew our congratulations to all our people inside and outside the country. We ask Allah Almighty for mercy upon our martyrs, healing for our wounded, and freedom for our detainees. May this Eid mark the beginning of a new phase of peace, justice, and prosperity.

May you and Yemen be well every year.

Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.
