His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, received today, Thursday, the draft regulations governing the work of the Presidential Leadership Council, the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission, and the Legal and Economic Teams. The draft was presented by the Legal Team, headed by Judge Hamoud Al-Hitar, in accordance with Article Three of the Declaration on the Transfer of Power.

Article Three of the Transfer of Power Declaration stipulates: the formation of a legal team composed of qualified national experts to draft the regulations governing the work of the Presidential Leadership Council, the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission, and the Legal and Economic Teams, which were established under the Declaration. The draft regulations are to be submitted to the President of the Presidential Leadership Council for approval and issuance as law.

During the meeting, President Al-Alimi was briefed by the head of the Legal Team on the contents of the draft, which consists of 59 articles divided into six sections. The draft reflects the team’s professionalism, high national responsibility, and deep understanding of the exceptional circumstances and requirements of the transitional phase, in line with the commitments of the Presidential Leadership Council, which are supported by both regional and international communities.

His Excellency also reviewed the legal team’s plans and future activities as a reference legal body responsible for assisting the state leadership in fulfilling its commitments in areas related to the team’s jurisdiction and duties.

President Al-Alimi praised the efforts of the Legal Team’s head and members in preparing the draft regulations, which, once approved, will serve as an important legislative reference for advancing the aspirations of the Yemeni people. The regulations aim to enforce the rule of law and strengthen the cohesiveness of political components opposing the Houthi project, which is backed by the Iranian regime.
