President Al-Alimi Holds Meeting with Supreme Security Committee

His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, convened a meeting today, Sunday, with the Supreme Security Committee. The meeting was held in light of recent developments in the national situation, as well as regional and international changes.  

The meeting was attended by Lieutenant General Mohsen Al-Da’ari, Minister of Defense, the Chairman of the Supreme Security Committee, along with committee members: Major General Ibrahim Haidan, the Minister of Interior, Major General Ahmed Al-Masabi, Head of the National Security Service, Major General Ahmed Al-Yafie, Head of Military Intelligence and Reconnaissance, Major General Nour Al-Din Al-Yami, Deputy Head of the Political Security Service, and Colonel Abdul Hakim Shaif, Secretary of the Supreme Security Committee.

The meeting was briefed by the Minister of Defense and the Minister of Interior, as well as the heads of relevant agencies, on the military and security situation. Discussions focused on efforts to enhance security and stability in the interim capital, Aden, and the liberated governorates. Additionally, the meeting addressed policies adopted to counter terrorist threats and improve the efficiency of relevant agencies at all levels.

The meeting also reviewed the security measures implemented at airports, seaports, and land ports as part of efforts to combat terrorism, smuggling, and organized crime. It emphasized the importance of maintaining security, stability, and public order, as well as pursuing and apprehending individuals wanted for security-related offenses and bringing them to justice.

Furthermore, the meeting discussed the necessary measures to address the designation of the Houthi militias as a Foreign Terrorist Organization. It highlighted coordinated efforts with the international community, in accordance with the National Defense Council's decision, to cut off sources of arms and funding for the terrorist militias. The meeting also stressed the importance of deterring the militias' destabilizing activities, which undermine local stability and international peace and security.  

During the meeting, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, on behalf of himself and his fellow Council members, expressed deep appreciation and gratitude for the sacrifices of the heroes of the armed forces, security personnel, and all military formations in the national battle against the Iran-backed Imamate project and in defense of dignity and the republican system. He also renewed his praise and gratitude for the stance of the brothers in the Coalition to Support Legitimacy, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, who have provided all forms of support to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people and back their aspirations for security, peace, and development.

His Excellency the President highlighted the significance of the holy month of Ramadan coinciding with the commemoration of major victories and historic events, starting with Operation Decisive Storm, the steadfastness and liberation of Al-Dhalea, and the liberation of the interim capital, Aden, as the gateway to reclaiming all southern governorates. He emphasized that these areas today serve as a critical center for completing the battle to restore state institutions and fulfill the Yemeni people’s aspirations for freedom, equality, stability, and development.

The President emphasized the critical role of the Supreme Security Committee in enhancing the decision-making process for security and military matters, maintaining continuous coordination with security committees in the governorates, and responding swiftly to changes, developments, and emerging challenges across various levels. He also underscored the consequent measures and national commitments required by the Yemeni government as a close partner of the international community in the fight against terrorism.  

The President urged the military and security institutions, as well as intelligence agencies, to intensify security precautions. This includes monitoring the movements of sleeper cells affiliated with the terrorist Houthi militia and allied terrorist organizations, while ensuring the necessary protection for national and international organizations and institutions in the interim capital, Aden and the liberated governorates.  

The meeting was attended by Major General Ahmed Al-Aqili, Director of the Office of the Supreme Commander.
