President Al-Alimi Receives Norwegian Envoy

His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, received today, Wednesday, at Al-Ma’ashiq Palace, Ms. Heidi Johansen, the Special Norwegian Envoy to Yemen.

The meeting discussed recent developments in Yemen and regional and international efforts to push the Houthi militias towards serious engagement with initiatives aimed at reviving the peace process, curbing their terrorist attacks on oil facilities, civilian areas, and international shipping lanes, which have worsened the living conditions in Yemen and the region.

During the meeting, His Excellency the President praised Norway’s stance in support of the Yemeni people, their political leadership, and their aspirations to restore state institutions, achieve peace, stability, and development.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council reaffirmed the council and government’s commitment to a just and comprehensive peace approach based on the nationally, regionally, and internationally agreed-upon references, particularly UN Resolution 2216.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Shai’a Al-Zindani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, and Maj. General Saleh Al-Maqaleh, the Director of the President of the Presidential Leadership Council’s Office.
