The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council gives his direction to redouble efforts for evacuating Yemeni nationals stuck in Sudan

A source in the Presidency of the Yemeni Republic said that His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, is closely following the conditions of the Yemeni community in the Republic of Sudan, and the coordinated measures with the concerned authorities in the government to secure the evacuation of all nationals stranded  in the brotherly country.

The source confirmed that the President of the Presidential Leadership Council and the members of the Council are in constant contact with the government, its concerned agencies in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the diplomatic mission in Khartoum, and the brothers and friends who paid great efforts in the evacuation of hundreds of members of the community, and in the arrangement for additional interventions to ensure the safety of all Yemeni nationals in Sudanese territory.

The source indicated that the President of the Presidential Leadership Council received, during the past hours, an update from the diplomatic mission on the number of Yemenis stranded in brotherly Sudan, the ongoing efforts to complete their transfer away from dangerous areas, humanitarian cases, and unfortunate accidents that left some victims among the people of the Yemeni community.

The source explained that the delay in direct evacuations was related to the requirements of insurance companies, and the restrictions imposed on flights destined for war zones and armed conflicts.

The source said that the presidential directives were issued to meet the requirements required to operate Yemenia Airways  flights to Sudanese territory, including covering the insurance differences for those upcoming flights, until contracting with a shipping company to complete the evacuations to the homeland, with women and children in the forefront.

The directives also included offering condolences and urgent assistance to the victims of unfortunate accidents, as well as addressing the conditions of students returning home.

The source, on behalf of the political leadership and the government, expressed great thanks and appreciation for the efforts of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia who evacuate hundreds of Yemeni nationals, providing them with the necessary assistance in accordance with the Royal directives.
