President Al-Alimi congratulates Bahraini leadership on success of Arab Summit

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, sent a cable of congratulations to his brother, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. In which he congratulated him, the government and the brotherly people of Bahrain on the success of the work of the Arab Summit in its 33rd Ordinary Session.

Upon his departure from the Bahraini capital, Manama, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council expressed, on his own behalf and members of the Council, his sincere congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa on assuming the presidency of the Arab Summit during its current session. He further expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the good organization and generous hospitality, wishing all the success to the Kingdom of Bahrain in leading the efforts aimed at strengthening Arab solidarity and unified position in the face of common challenges.

His Excellency the President praised the position of his fellow Arab leaders at the summit on the Yemeni issue, who affirmed their firm support for the Presidential Leadership Council and support for the government’s efforts in its quest to alleviate human suffering and achieve peace, security and stability in the country.

The Bahrain Summit Declaration affirmed its support for international and regional efforts aimed at reaching a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis in accordance with the terms of reference of the Gulf Initiative, its executive mechanism, the outcomes of the National Dialogue, and the resolutions of international legitimacy, especially Resolution 2216, in order to achieve the collective goal of achieving the legitimate aspirations of the Yemeni people.

The Declaration renewed its complete rejection of any support for armed groups or militias that operate outside the scope of state sovereignty and pursue or implement foreign agendas that conflict with the supreme interests of Arab countries.

The Summit Declaration also affirmed absolute solidarity with all Arab countries in defending their sovereignty, territorial integrity and protecting their national institutions against any foreign attempts to attack, impose influence, undermine sovereignty, or harm Arab interests.

Presidential Leadership Council Discusses National and Regional Developments

The Presidential Leadership Council held a meeting today, Thursday, chaired by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, President of the Council.
