President Al-Alimi receives Ambassador of USA

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, received on Monday Mr. Steven Fagin, the Ambassador of the United States of America to Yemen.

During the meeting they reviewed bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries, the latest developments in the Yemeni situation, regional and international developments, and ways to coordinate common stances regarding them

In this context, the meeting touched upon the terrorist Houthi militia attacks on maritime shipping, international shipping lines and their disastrous repercussions on the living conditions of Yemeni people, the peoples of the region and their national economies.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council talked about the repercussions of terrorist militias’ violations on human rights, and their continued undermining of opportunities for peace led by the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Nations Special Envoy. His Excellency also pointed out to their procrastination in facilitating the payment of salaries of employees in the areas under their control by brute force, and their continued escalation of war in various front lines, the siege of Taiz, and the mobilization of children into sectarian camps.

The President reiterated the priority of supporting the government, and strengthening its economic, financial and administrative reforms to fulfill its imperative obligations, and its exclusive powers in monopolizing arms, law enforcement authority, and imposing its influence on the entire national territory.

His Excellency the President also stressed the need for the International Community to undertake its responsibilities in combating Iranian arms smuggling, and all activities that facilitate the terrorist group to continue its unilateral actions and profit from the livelihoods of Yemenis.

The meeting was attended by Engineer Omar Al-Amoudi, Advisor to the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, Member of the House of Representatives.
