
President Al-Alimi offers condolences to Egyptian president over the death of former Speaker of the People's Assembly

His Excellency, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Council, sent a cable of condolences and sympathy to his brother, His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of the Arab Republic of Egypt, on the passing of Dr. Ahmed Fathi Sorour, the former Speaker of the People's Assembly. Dr. Sorour, passed away after a life full of contributions in serving his country, and nation.
The President of the Presidential Leadership Council, on his own behalf, the members of the Council, the government, and the Yemeni people, expressed his sincere condolences and sympathy to President El-Sisi, the family of the deceased, and the brotherly Egyptian people. The president pointed out that with the death of Dr. Sorour, the Egyptian and Arab societies have lost, an outstanding political, parliamentary, diplomatic, and academic figure. He also noted that the former Speaker of the Egyptian People’s Assembly has greatly contributed to serving Egyptian, Arab and international legislative and parliamentary work. In addition Dr. Sorour has greatly contributed to serving scientific and legal researches. President Al-Alimi commended the deceased’s honorable roles and positions in support of the Arab and Islamic nation’s issues, when holding high-ranking leadership positions, the latest of which was the Speaker of the Egyptian People’s Assembly.
His Excellency prayed to Allah Almighty to bestow His mercy on the deceased, to dwell him in his vast paradise and to inspire his family and loved ones with patience and solace.
