President Al- Alimi discusses with NATO Assistant Secretary General partnership in combating terrorist organizations

On  the sidelines of Munich Security Conference, His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, president of the Presidential Leadership Council, met with Ambassador Boris Ruge, Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy at NATO.

The  meeting touched upon Yemeni and regional developments, and repercussions of Houthi terrorist militia's attacks on international security and peace.

President Al- Alimi briefed the international official on latest national developments, in addition to the Presidential Council and government’s initiatives that aim to achieving peace and stability, and alleviating Yemeni people’s  suffering with the support of the Arab Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

His Excellency also outlined the Council and the government’s  efforts, supported by regional allies and international partners, in combating terrorism. Moreover, His Excellency also outlined the required support to secure port cities and curb the threats posed by Houthi militias and the affiliated terrorist organizations.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council expressed appreciation for  a strategic partnership with NATO, and  various regional and international actors and partners, to enhance security, peace, and stability in the region.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Mekhlafi, the Economic Advisor to the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, and Mr. Louay Al-Eryani, the Chargé d’Affairs of the Yemeni Embassy to Germany.
