PLC discusses local developments and upcoming executive entitlements

Today, Tuesday, the Presidential Leadership Council held a meeting chaired by His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Council, and in the presence of its members, Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, Abdul Rahman Al-Maharami, Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, and Othman Mujli, while Council members Sultan Al-Arada, Tariq Saleh, and Faraj Al-Bahsani were absent with excuse due to their field assignments.

The Presidential Leadership Council took stock of the developments in the economic, living, political, security and military conditions, and the upcoming executive entitlements to continue the state’s fulfillment of its imperative obligations during the new year.

The Council congratulated Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak for having the confidence of the Council as the new Prime Minister. The meeting also praised the highly appreciated efforts performed by Dr. Maeen Abdul Malik Saeed during his assumption of the presidency of the government under extremely complex local and regional circumstances.

The Presidential Leadership Council stressed the importance of working from within the country, regarding the Prime Minister, members of the government, and all leaders of state institutions, in addition to urgently dealing with the concerns and needs of citizens in various fields.

The meeting affirmed the Council's commitment to supporting the government's efforts and facilitating the exercise of its authority with full powers to alleviate the human suffering caused by the terrorist Houthi militias, and to achieve the aspirations of the Yemeni people to restore state institutions, security, stability and peace.

The Council was briefed by the Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Mohsen Mohammed Al-Daari, on the latest developments in military affairs, and the level of implementation of defense decisions and plans, including deterring the escalation of the Houthi militias, and unifying the command and control of all units of the armed forces. In addition to the military formations included within the legitimate government coalition under the command of the Ministry of Defense and the presidency of the General Staff. In a way that achieves the integration of forces under a unified national command structure in accordance with what was stipulated in the Declaration of the Transfer of Power.

The Council also reviewed a briefing on regional developments related to the brutal Israeli war against the Palestinian people, furthermore the Houthi terrorist attacks on international shipping lines, and their devastating repercussions on food security, and regional and global peace. The Council took the necessary decisions and directions regarding them.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Yahya Al-Shuaibi, Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic.
