The Presidential Leadership Council ( PLC)  held a meeting, today, Sunday chaired by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Council, and in the presence of Council members: Aidarus Al-Zubaidi, Sultan Al-Arada, Tariq Saleh, Abdulrahman Al-Mahrami, Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, Othman Mujlii. While the council member, Faraj Al-Bahsani, was absent with an excuse.

The PLC discussed developments in economic, living, political, security and military local situations, at the forefront, ‏exchange rate fluctuations ,measures for relative stability of currency rate, ‏commodity, and alleviating the human suffering exacerbated by the Houthi militias’ terrorist attacks on oil facilities and international shipping lanes.

The Council reiterated the state's commitment to fully discharge its responsibilities towards its citizens, including ensuring regular payment of employees' salaries, improving public revenues, and advance with comprehensive economic, administrative, and financial reforms supported by brothers and friends.

In this context, the Council praised the continued fraternal support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to the state's general budget, and petroleum derivatives, in addition to their humanitarian and developmental interventions in various fields.

The PLC reviewed the security and military situation in the country, warning against the Houthi terrorist militia’s war escalation on various fronts. The PLC  also warned against the continued exploitation of the just Palestinian cause and its misleading narratives to mobilize more brainwashed citizens to target and attack civilians and armed forces positions on various fronts, in addition to undermining all efforts aimed at achieving peace, stability, and ending Yemeni people’s suffering.

The Council praised the readiness and the  high vigilance shown by security, armed forces, and all military and popular formations, along with the national forces’ positions represented in the battle to restore state institutions and defend the republican system.

The PLC was briefed on the assessment of the devastating effects of the terrorist Houthi’s  attacks on international shipping lanes, and their desperate approach to militarizing regional waters, increasing economic burdens, shipping insurance costs, commodity, and harming national sovereignty and Yemeni people’s  interests.

The Council commended the unity of the international community regarding the Yemeni file and the common position against the serious threats to global trade freedom. Hoping that such established facts regarding the terrorist nature of the Houthi militias and the Iranian regime's support for them would lead to enhancing the capabilities of the Yemeni government and coastal guard, in accordance with the United Nations Security Council resolution aimed at protecting regional waters and combating the terrorism of the Houthi militias, Al-Qaeda, and ISIS.

The Council also welcomed the decision to designate the Houthi militias as a global terrorist organization, looking forward to further sanctions against the rogue militias and collective implementation of international legitimacy resolutions on arms embargo as the best peaceful option to bring peace and stability that Yemeni people deserve.

The Council directed the government to take coordinated actions with various bodies to limit living consequences of Houthi terrorist attacks on global commercial ships, that threaten commodity supply chains, life-saving food and medical imports.

The Council also gave it directions to adopt political, diplomatic, and media guidelines to deal with emergencies and counter the terrorist militias' disinformation and their propaganda claims at all levels.
