President Al- Alimi receives US Embassy’s Charge d'Affaires

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, received today, Wednesday, the Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy, Inger Tangborn. 

At the beginning of the meeting, Mrs. Inger expressed on her own behalf and the American government deepest condolences to President Al- Alimi on the death of Dr. Najib Mansour Al-Awj, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, who passed away yesterday, Tuesday, after an honorable lifetime.

The meeting touched upon bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and the latest local developments, including the efforts of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to launch a UN- led comprehensive political process.

The meeting also reviewed economic and financial reforms, in addition to the required international support to enhance such reforms, alleviate the impact of war and the impact of the Houthi terrorist attacks on oil facilities and international shipping lanes especially on humanitarian and living conditions of Yemeni people.

The president of the Presidential Leadership Council affirmed the Council and the government’s support for  a just sustainable peace in accordance with nationally, regionally, and internationally agreed-upon comprehensive solution references.

On her part, the American Chargé d'Affaires reiterated US support for the Presidential Leadership Council and its efforts to resume the political process, alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people, and achieve its aspirations for security, peace, stability, and development.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Yahya Al-Shuaibi, the Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic.
